Palmsaver Missing

I bought a cva optima at a DNR auction but the ramrod is missing the palmsaver piece. I've been trying to find a replacement but can only find the palmsaver and full rod. Any suggestions?

You could use one of these or a removable “palm saver”

More seriously, you can go to hobby lobby and get some doll heads. Drill what size you need to fit your ramrod. Keep it in your pocket

Sooo fear of asking dumb question aside....if you use this type where do (or would) you use a Barnes aligner

Right - exactly why I don’t use a rod with a “palm saver” attached. I use a rod with a spin jag. Although if you wanted to use something like a TC PowerRod with an attached t-handle ( or a CVA palm saver rod) you can use a jag like this that will fit through the ramrod thimble/pipe.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I bought my CVA optima for $100 used 4 years ago and it didn’t have the PalmSaver. If you have a good brass range rod( highly recommend) you should really only use the factory rod if you’re reloading after a shot at an animal.
