Goose feet. It's pretty much the only thing I added to my backpacking kit since I started backpack hunting. My feet are always cold before anything else.
I have no complaints after ~5years.
They just live in the same bags as our down quilts so I never forget them and they go from the loft bag...
I'm going with likely not dead
Sounds like it hit bone.
His behavior sounds like he wasn't hurt. My wife hit one high above the spine and like yours he ran out to 100-200yds and stopped looking back for cow. I thought I was going to call him back, but he eventually meandered off. Never...
The fact that you don't KNOW that the guide apps are better draw odds highlights the value of GoHunt. You can learn a lot even if you only get it for one year. I don't think anyone would agree they do all the homework for you. It's just a tool do the work.
Of course all of their draw odds...
I went with stone glacier skyline for a lighter-weight harness. It's been good. I need one more harness for the kids, and I think I'll try a T&K before deciding which one I give the kid.
Well, I didn't realize they made (legal to transport)reusable 1lb. cylinders til today. I'll keep refilling my green ones with the $10 adapter, but If the reusable ones last longer they would be worth it. $5 for a disposable. $15 for a reusable. The disposables usually only last a couple of...

We use our backpacking long-handled sporks, but keep some disposable on hand too.
If you do premade like chilli or chicken and dumpling and put them in individual bags, you can eat...
I'd say go hunt is a better research tool. They have a mapping app. I let my son use it, but I started using OnX before I had GoHunt and I'm too used to OnXmaps to convert so I pay for both.
I can't really say OnX is a better map tool, just different. It has some features that GoHunt doesn't...
It's time vs money. If you have more money use the service. I've been fortunate to have enough downtime at work to spend time researching. If you DIY, get GoHunt and Huntin Fool(free w/OnX). Spend a year or two researching heavily and making short, mid and long-term plans. Once you spend a...
I think the lightest I would go for sleeping is screenshot down below. Most of this is not gear I own yet, just researching to see the potential to get lighter. Combined with a stoveless menu, could cut weight pretty well. Here is the actual gear I usually use.
Mule deer don't appear to struggle in the areas I've hunted them.
The state has objectives. The more people that pass on deer the more tags the state will issue to keep herds in objective.
