Sausage and peppers is a great option. I saute the peppers and onions before I leave and keep them in a Chinese soup container so all I need to do is heat them up on the griddle or pan once the sausages are ready.
I was looking for more of a back pack and not something to really pack down with weight so I am not to concerned about having a serious belt strap. Was looking at the UZ as it seems like it has good access and storage. Added the organizer pouch and it seems like a win. The only thing throwing me...
Yes I try to do a lot of full body compound movements. Lots of squats, dead lifts and kettle bells swings. Was just curious to add more variation to keep those bow muscles guessing.
Hey All,
I know the best exercises for bow muscles is actually shooting your bow, but what does everyone do to get stronger and keep those muscles in shape other than shooting. Looking for exercises I may be over looking. Currently I do some of the following:
- Pull ups
- Renegade rows
-...
Hey All,
I am looking for an EDC pack that can be used for traveling and a bunch of other uses. Has anyone purchased the urban zippy from kifaru? I have read the reviews but also want to get Roksliders opinions as well. Is it small on the back or is it a good size. I currently have basic North...
I'm hoping I can make it out this year. Tough to get away for 8 days and would really like to find a hunting buddy instead of going solo. On the bright side what last year taught me is that I can do this alone.
David,
Pressure wan't bad at all I only saw two hunters the entire time I was out and that was towards the end of my trip when it was getting close to the weekend and they were both using a creek bottom to get to other grounds. Now that I think of that I prob should have been heading that way...
Thanks all this is great feedback.
Still curious if hiking through the timber was a smart move or if I should have been sticking to trails or a mixture of both?
Can anyone add clarity if my walking through the timber and meadows was the what I should have been doing, or should I have been just using a main marked trail and covering more ground trying to locate elk?
I have listened to him, and I feel the area I was in had everything Elk needed. Like I said I did see sign just didn't hear any bugles or see them on hoof. I do agreed with you in that I should have moved after 3 days to a new area. My fear was not knowing the area and having a hard time to find...
Hey All,
I went on my first back pack elk hunt last year and am itching to get back out I am trying to determine what I did wrong as I saw elk sign but no Elk. I did however see mule deer and moose. I think the trip was a success even though I did not punch my tag as I set out from NYC with the...
Hey All,
I've been listening to a lot of podcasts with Aron Snyder and John Dudley and they speak on being a student of archery. I have been trying to learn as much as I can about how to work on my bow and build arrows without actually performing the tasks yet. Two reasons for that:
1. I don't...
I did my first trip last year and it was an awesome experience. The things I did to get ready were a few overnight and multi night back packing trips here in the Adirondacks and Catskill mountains in NY. It helped my learn my gear and see what worked and what didn't. I know peoples opinions vary...
If it's just a visual thing by any big duffel that it will fit in. I have one of those big waterproof Kuiu bags with the shoulder straps I throw my pack and other gear in to keep it all together. But for the bow I would just buy anything that covers it.
