I know there has been threads like this in the past. But I always think it's cool to see everybody's setups going into the hunting season. Post pics of your bow/arrow/broadheads or you can just tell us as well. It's good to get everyone talking and answering questions to help everyone get ready...
I've noticed that to. Obviously he looks like he has extra mass now because of the velvet. But even without it he has a lot of mass. And I definitely will. Lots of work to do to make that happen. Hopefully he keeps showing up and I can put the pieces together.
Oh I know. Happens all the time. All I got going for me is that this land is loaded with does so I am hoping that will keep him here. Or at least a little bit to give me a chance.
Everything ive heard they are pretty much the same. They went to 58 grains because a 100 grain insert is stupid heavy and pushes a lot of people away. So they went lighter with the option to add more weight to caiter to more people. IMO though they still won't get a lot of people to run this...
I got permission to some new ground this fall. And just set out cameras on Friday. Literally the next day I get a picture of this buck. I am curious what you guys think he scores and what his age is. I have shot 2 8 pointers in the 100-105 range. And he looks slightly bigger to me. I think he...
If you want a double pin where you can move your second pin to set it at what you want look at the Bg Dual Trac. IMO BG makes much better sights than Spott Hogg, they just have a lot more micro adjustability. Also I HATE how big the housing is on the Spott Hogg triple stack, like its...
In my opinion I would shoot a lighter arrow at an elk than at a deer because of the nature of hunting. Deer are pretty much 40 yards and under where as elk can get to 60 plus easily. Obviously there are exceptions to this, thats just a general statement. I'm not saying stupid light for elk...
I shot a bunch last night. And found my sight tape was a little off. So after getting that dialed in and then shooting the G5 that will be my broadhead this year. 2 last shots were dead on at 40. So im confident now
I have no clue. To me it seems stupid. And I feel like that weave is probably denser than the standard carbon on the front. I very well could be wrong though. But if that's true than it's just killing FOC. If it's lighter than its a great idea. Hate they come with aluminum components. And when...
I have been shooting a lot lately and starting to mix broadheads in as well. I shot 1 deer with a qad exodus 3 years ago and it worked great. Though this year I wanted something different. So I picked up some G5 deadmeat broadheads. While tuning with the G5 deadmeat, it was hard to tell if it...
Ok. So I shoot 5mm Axis arrows for reference. But so I am using nockturnal shift lighted nocks. The only thing I haven't liked about them in the past is how heavy they are. But the off switch is nice and the nock fit is similar to a x nock. But last night when I was shooting one of my...
The fact your arrow is 1/2" behind the front of the riser shoudn't affect your broadhead choice. No matter what broadhead you use you should not have any finger up anywhere near your arrow that it would get hit. With your specs shooting a mechanical is fine. But the mechanical you chose is I...
Smaller vanes in a 4 fletch are popular with people that take longer shots. But also most people taking long range shots are shooting mechanical. So they don't need as much steering capability. Smaller vanes in a 4 fletch are also typically a little faster and a little quieter. That's why this...
Well first off to me you sound like your arrow is too weak of spine. But I guess if everything tunes well go with it. And second of all that is probably one of the last broadheads I would want to take elk hunting if I were you. Heck I wouldn't even shoot a whitetail with them. I have never held...
