How long have you been at your current job?

Longest was 20 years active duty Air Force. Then 8 years with a defense contractor, and now 5 years with federal job. Prior to Air Force I shuffled around and had about 30 different jobs in various industries while trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Some of them were real shit jobs too...

Have you moved out of state?

I was in Myrtle Beach in April, right before Spring Break. Locals told me if I wanted to live there to consider either North Myrtle Beach or just south of Myrle Beach near the Marine Base. I'm undecided, but my two sons live in Greenville SC and I'd like to be closer to them, I just can't do...

Have you moved out of state?

Grew up in NYC. Enlisted in the Air Force and first assignment was upstate NY. Then it was off to California. Now I live in Massachusetts. I'll likely move to either Maine or NH next but keeping Myrtle Beach SC open to possibilities.

    What's your "Happy place"?

When I was stationed along the central coast of California I would often grab a coffee and park my truck at a small isolated beach and just listen and watch the waves crashing, watch the birds and local wildlife, and take in the salt air. It was a way of recharging my brain and enjoying some...

Kifaru Shape Charge vs Mystery Ranch 3DAP for EDC?

I would second the recommendation for Osprey. They make great packs. Check out the Kifaru Echo if you can live with 1800 cu in. I have the original Antero and added the organizer pouch, fits quite a bit. Very comfortable too.

    Best 10x $250 binoculars

Don't rule out Pentax or Opticron. They make great glass, though Pentax often have a narrow FOV. It's easy to trash other people's recommendations while recommending glass that is twice the price of your range, but if you're set on a budget of $250 or less, Vortex, Pentax, Opticron, Leupold, and...

    9mm Bear defense pistol ammo?

Famous Alaskan guide carries a 9mm for brown bear. I'd be hesitant to enter grizzly country with a 9mm, but if you are proficient with it, you're better off shooting with something you feel comfortable with and can shoot accurately...

Binoculars with blackouts or kidney beaning?

A lot of the binoculars which were otherwise perfect for me just didn't work because I'd get the dreaded blackouts, usually from too little eye-relief or being unable to find the sweet spot to avoid it. Leica Noctivid 8x42 were the best view through a binocular I've ever seen, but eye placement...

How to catch an untrapable mouse.

Mix equal parts cornbread mix and baking soda. Leave it out in a dish. Rodents can’t digest baking soda, no need for toxic poisons.

    Mike Tyson VS Jake Paul

Paul has to survive the first few rounds. He likely stays on his bicycle and keeps Mike chasing him hoping he will tire out. If it’s anything like the Tyson/Roy Jones fight neither man will be throwing haymakers to the head and it ends in a draw.

Choosing new binos (swaro, zeiss, vortex)

It's a matter of personal preference. If possible, try before you buy. I like the Leica Trinovid 10x42 HD over the Zeiss, but again it's personal preference when you look through them.

    El vs SF

For hunting I'd say Swarovski are more durable and have an unbeatable warranty. I own both an SF 8x42 and EL 8.5x42 and they are both excellent. Can't go wrong either way. SF is only slightly brighter by a hair and a little wider view, but I prefer Swarovski color contrast a little more. I also...

    Best 10x $250 binoculars

I'd go with Vortex Diamondback 10x42 HD. Lightweight, sharp, contrast is excellent. Not much better in that range.
