Can lead to target panic or it might not. A book titled "Idiot Proof Archery" is a great resource and will explain the potential downside of this method. That said this style might never create a problem for you but it did for me.
I'm able to adjust my Like Mike from 8 oz to 5#. I haven't tried lower than 8 oz. My RX2 with either the medium or heavy spring (can't remember which I installed) comes in at about 1#.
If I remember correctly one turn of the adjustment screw equals 4 oz on my Like Mike.
I've had real good experiences with Black Eagle arrows and have found the spine consistency to be excellent. I'll be switching from Deep Impacts to Spartans the next time I need new arrows. The outserts on the Deep Impacts are a pain.
I used the RX2 for a few years and really like it but it got jammed up with tundra on one hunt and during a Stone Sheep hunt the C clip popped out on a stalk. Luckily I had a backup in my pocket and was able to switch it out quickly. The Like Mike seems less likely to have these issues but it's...
Carter "Like Mike". I use back tension to trigger this release and the fact the trigger is adjustable up to 5# is perfect for this style of shooting. The trigger travel is also fully adjustable and it's extremely well built.
Using the hair trigger releases can lead to target panic, drive by...
Yes, the Blob will ruin carbon arrows. It's made from some sort of carpet adhesive which contains sand and it pretty quickly wears down the front end of carbon shafts. At least that was my experience and when I emailed the Blob owners asking about this they never answered my emails even after...
I have the same rest and have used two of them for several years on four different Hoyts. I've never been able to get Blazers to clear the rubber arrow holder that clips on the rest or the little rubber piece where your arrow goes through the capture. Took both off and all is good.
Owen,
Get your grip dialed and you'll have that rig shooting great in short order. Just keep practicing close to the target for the next couple of weeks and it'll surprise you how natural and stable a proper grip feels. My door is always open!

I live in Reno and can help you tune it as long as the cams are timed. I don't have the bow press attachments for the new Hoyt limbs so I can check the timing on my draw board but I won't be able to adjust it for you if it's off. That said we can set nock height, center shot and yoke tune and if...
5 gallon Swiss water bladder. Fits nicely and you can dump the water for your descent if you want to save your knees. A quick Google search will turn some up.

I wouldn't necessarily say I disagree with either of them. I just think we've all done a poor job of explaining the impact of earlier choices on the odds of later choices. Earlier choices have no impact on the odds of later choices but they do have an impact on reaching a later choice. Before...
Here's another example:
Archery draw odds for residents in the Rubies are 100% so if I apply for an archery tag in the Rubies, as my last choice, my chance of drawing a tag are 100% but my chance of reaching the Rubies choice is impacted by the previous four choices. If I only apply for the...
I believe they're both incorrect as referenced in my post above but I do believe Top Rut knows this and just didn't explain it well in the first post he made. In fact, they might both understand it but it's difficult to explain.
