    Bergara Highlanders

I think this is the best assessment I’ve heard on this comparison. Although the prc catches and actually surpasses the AI out past 600 yds or so in some bullet configurations I think I like the heavier bullet.

    Bergara Highlanders

Do y’all think the 280 would be better than 6.5prc they r offering it as well? Assuming same application for deer and elk. I’ve kinda went back and forth with this. But Berger recently cane out w a 156 gr for the 6.5 prc so that could make a big diff

Someone talk me out of it

Well if it helps your decision, I picked up a bull tag in CO under this same premise! I already had a tag in another state and assuming I kill there I’ll go on to CO. I say go for it!

    NM 16B help

Turn in your notice and go for 10 plus days! That unit can turn up a giant. But the country will swallow u. The B unit is all wilderness and very remote just to get to the boundary. Hell it will take u three days almost just to get to the unit boundary depending on where u coming from. I’ve...

    Bergara Premier Series Mountain Rifle

I haven’t saw one in person but if a light weight gun is what u r after it would a solid choice. I think there was a review on here. It has a bit of light bbl for me for what I want.

    444pt bull just taken

Am I the only one that doesn’t see 444 of inches? I mean I know he’s in velvet but I don’t see the point length to get there. He just look that big to me! But I could very well be wrong and he is a giant but 444 is really big.

I’m in south Alabama. Been elk hunting throughout the west several several times. My number is 2517696061

    Maven B.5 18X56

I guess my question is, I’ve always read these doublers were useless as they drastically distorted the image. But are these any better? If so to me, this would b a real game changer. The only reason I would want it is to size up the rack so if it worked fir that then I feel it would be very useful

Best rifle/caliber for entry level mule deer and elk hunter?

I’m getting a 280ai. I would also really consider 6.5prc especially if it’s more for deer and occasional elk.

    Light and compact dialable scope?

I just got a Zeiss 4x16x50 in the vx4 line. I know u said not 50 but this scope is much smaller than I anticipated. It’s a couple ounces lighter than the 4x16x44. This scope weighs like 21 oz and is very compact.

    What caliber(s)?

Been researching this myself but if that’s your max range for elk I’d get the 6.5 PRC w/o a doubt. It’s a step up from the creed and will be devastating for deer and good enough for elk.

    6.5prc

So would the 147 eldm be just as good for hunting as the 143 elds x? I know the eldm are match bullets but I read a lot of ppl hunt w them as well
  18. T

    6.5prc

True yea lol not sure we are going to find a happy medium on this one! Dear lord that’s a big bullet!
  19. T

    6.5prc

Also I see u can get the 143 x or 147m in this 6.5 prc from Hornady. Is there a big diff in why one shouldn’t use the 147’s because I guess they r match and/or have a diff core vs the eldx
