I shot the V3X 33 tonight. I also shot the RX7. Both shoot very very smooth and quiet at least to me. I am having a very difficult time talking myself out of ordering a v3x 33. I am not a buy a new bow every year guy but Mathews finally made a bow that peaks my interest.
You know that buttery smooth draw people are talking about with that bow? Yeah that's why it isn't a speed demon. Bows have pretty much hit their theoretical limits of efficiency in transferring energy between the limbs and cams back to the string and into the arrow. In other words. If you want...
old dead thread but..... I have an RX4 Ultra. Of the RX1-4 I wouldn't shoot an RX1 if someone gave it to me, they are so loud (friend I shoot TAC with owns one). I have had decent luck tuning my RX4 Ultra. I like that I can adjust wheel lean with my yoke if need be. That being said I agree 100%...
lancaster archery supply has a youtube video if you are worried about it. Otherwise, keep things clean as possible, install with green tool and clean that SOB after ever install..... and pull the knocks otherwise it could build pressure inside the arrow and push your inserts back out a bit...
I own an Rx4 ultra, and while I shoot it very very well, looking back I should've just purchased the aluminum bow. Who knows maybe the RX7 is really that much better but from what I have noticed shooting with one buddy who also owns a carbon hoyt and another buddy who owns the mathews atlas is...
The difficulty of forums is a lot gets lost just writing text. Either way, they do break on misses and hard surfaces I will concur. Albeit I haven't seen the same type failure you are describing. Everyone here is just going off their own experiences. If you don't like Axis arrows its all good...
I am going to go shoot one today hopefully. I shoot my RX4 ultra so well its going to be tough to change but I am not super impressed with how loud the carbon bows seem to be when shot next to the aluminum counterpart
Yeah.......the only thing I have had an axis break on is a direct rock hit, and even then sometimes they survive. I am shooting the 300s though so they are thicker. The thing about the HIT system that I am sold on is, no way to bend. It's either good or its broken. I got tired of outserts...
Hey nothing wrong with doing things the way you want. And if you feel a component system makes your arrows better then great. That is what you should be doing.
The OP was asking about getting away from a component system and the truth is the Axis can be just fine all on their own if they are...
The axis are relatively inexpensive heavy enough to blow through a deer and durable enough to pull from the dirt and do it all over again. They do break, but like was said earlier, assemble them correctly and they are very tough. Oh and they are made in America.
i am not going to try it any time soon other than it would be a fun to see it once, but isnt it damn near impossible to get a non res tag anyway in cali?
Gaurantee it goes to 100% draw, it’s become too popular. You can see that the western states are all feeling it with their reactions in their policy changes that are currently happening and have happened in the last few years. I can’t say blame anyone for wanting to hunt the west tho. I love it...
They assign you a random number and that’s the order you get to buy a tag in. The system usually crashes while you are trying to check out etc. it’s not a smooth process
It doesn’t even have to be that far from a road haha. Case and point, I remember one year I was hunting a tag in colorado for deer, in pretty tough unit. It’s thick, steep, low deer numbers, billions of elk hunters etc. These boys from Kentucky slammed a 180 incher like 400 yards behind my camp...
I think the reality is, there’s always going to be some person trying to get a free ride and not contribute and some poor well intentioned veteran of hunting willing to help. I guess I just hunt places that are so bad most people aren’t willing to deal with how hard it is. Even if they know...
I had almost 400 posts on here with story’s, pictures etc. Had a few bad experiences in a row with people and I deleted almost every post and picture it would allow me to. I pick and choose things to answer these days and I myself actually through pm asked for some help with some draw tags I...
