Yep, they are the straps for the new Lite and Ultralite frames. They come in long and short sizes and have .75" webbing instead of 1" for hooking up to the frame. Everyone shot down my idea for the Newplex frame name but it worked to keep the shoulder straps separate in our software.
ITW Grimloc's work very well for detachable lids if you are going to be taking them off a lot. They are a bit tougher than the siamese clips.

Afternoon Matt,
I put 1" mil. grade elastic at the top of the Shape Charge bottle pockets to reinforce that pocket and keep them pulled in to retain what's in there. The 1" elastic keeps the fabric from expanding to the point where it would break the fibers and likewise the fabric keeps the...
Norway_Hunter,
The Hooligan and Shape Charge use the same 1/16" frame sheet with 18.5" stays. The X ray uses 17" stays and does not have the plastic frame sheet. It will be much easier to stretch out the capacity of the Hooligan with different lid options.
Some tips on sewing if you're gonna go for it. Take it slow and draw out all you pieces before you start cutting material or pattern paper. Take your measurements from the seams, not the edge of the fabric. A good width for seams from the edge is 3/8". If you figure out all your dimensions and...

It doesn't have any load lifters for the SS so that would depend on how much fun you want to have. With a belt it can go up to 55-60 lbs before you'll start wishing you had a full on frame and that number will change from person to person. It does have a frame sheet with stays that...
The new Lite and Ultra lite frames use a 3/4" webbing to attach the shoulder straps instead of 1" so it won't work without modification. The older belts did use the delta straps but the sleeve that the frame fits into hasn't changed. You could sew a 1" strap in between the Molle on the belt to...
I would recommend having webbing pockets sewn into the bottom of the belt. Or at least stitch through the two layers to create two channels for the stays to sit in. Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you have any questions or need some of our thread for the job.
As long as its not overloaded I haven't heard of any problems. Might be worth it to have a contractor's bag and tape if they do make you check it at the gate to save your straps from conveyor belts.
There will be holes and marks from where the bartacks were. I would suggest going in with an exacto or scalpel and cutting the bartack on top of the webbing (score a couple vertical lines and then 3 or 4 horizontal lines to cut the bottom stitches). This will eliminate the possibility of...
Snowplow,
The lid compression straps were originally meant to run on the vertical daisy chains. The 3/4" webbing on the bottom was for trecking pole tips and as a handle. The way you have it set up does offer more compression options but i think it will pull the top away from the frame if you...
No problem. I should also add that yes, they do make cordura faced xpac and the cordura has the same ability to absorb some water. We decided that the VX-21 RS would be optimal for what we were trying to accomplish which was a lighter weight bag with weather resistant qualities. I really want...
Hello all, Bender here from Kifaru. Here's some of the reason why I made the new bags the way I did and the lowdown on the materials. Hang on, I tend to ramble.
The new Xpac bags are made from VX21-RS (210D Nylon Face w/ Polyester and Pu Lamination, 6.3 oz/yd^2) and 500d Ranger Green (...
Gil, The 14'r has two tabs up top for the load lifters. You could probably find a way to hook those to the two top tabs on the frame and then route the compression straps (which have k clips on the ends and will work with the frames). This could probably be done with a couple K clips and...
Newmexican, the guide lid straps are made with 1.5" webbing and the Xray straps use 2". there will be a little play in the buckle but it is doable. Just a heads up.
Dodgeis4me - The woodsman only has one layer of fabric. If you modify it, Kifaru probably won't stand by the warranty if something goes wrong. I know the Spotting Scope pocket will fit on the side of the woodsman. That would hold a bladder but it would be off balance.
