Very fortunate this year...drew a DMA sheep tag and the wife got a Lost Lake goat tag! Looks like I'll be retiring in June which should leave plenty of time to get out and stretch the legs. Congrats to everyone that drew and good luck next year to those that didn't.

Typically I can only get 7-10 days off to hunt and if I have an opportunity to do it starting 1 Aug then I'll be one less hunter come the 10th to crowd the place.
Of course this would mean more guided hunters over a longer season thus an overall increase of non-resident hunters in the area.
I've shot hoyts for 16 years now and while I don't consider them loud, when they switched to the air shox last year I did notice a cupping noise which I believe is from the limbs making contact with the shox. Still IMO, they are quieter than most of the bows I've shot.
Popping noise on the CS or the CS turbo? I haven't heard anything like that...I'll talk to Andrew but I shot the one he had set up and it was as smooth and quiet as my 2013 CM...of course this was about two weeks ago. As far as the draw cycle goes I felt the Z5 cam was about the same as the...
Dude yes!!! My feet were crushed once I had a load on going downhill. My toes were slamming into the toe box, and I even had to cut my hunt short. Backcountry hunting on a college budget had its rough times.
x2...IMO, the UA's I've tried are lightweight and look cool and that's about it. Zero...
Just picked up a Stevens 320 pump, 18.5 barrel, 3", all black with ghost ring sights for a little over $200. Comes is a few different configurations. Not sure yet how it'll perform, just figured at that price I'd give it a try. Plan to use it going in and out of my bear baits this spring...
Just returned from a brown bear/deer hunt down near Sitka. Saw 3 deer in 11 days of hunting and took one on the second day there. A buddy of mine was on Kodiak during the same period and took a brownie, two goats and three deer. His buck was a bruiser blacktail to say the least. Believe he...
Shoot year round however a bit less during hunting season...since moving to Alaska my hunts are spread out versus being able to do evening hunts and such so I have to shoot between hunts to keep me sane!

I've ran the MR Longbow and Metcalf and while I never attempted to mount them on a duplex frame, the Metcalf has load lifters built into the pack where as the long bow does not. Believe this would be your biggest culprit.
