6.5-284, 140gr ELDM, 2880fps muzzle velocity.
Mule deer buck at about 40 yds in timber. He got up from his bed, took about 2 steps, and I had an unobstructed view of his shoulder. First round hit scapula and exited offside ribs. You can see the blood in the snow from that shot in the first...
140gr eldm, 2880fps out of a 6.5x284 on a cow elk.
Less than 100yds, more than 50, head shot on a cow elk from seated with trekking poles. Not my first choice of shots, but the only one I had and wobble zone was smaller than the eye socket. Not a great test of terminal effectiveness, but if...
If you like the P365, I'd agree with others here to either buy a macro grip module and some 17rd mags, or get a 2nd pistol (you'll have a longer slide if you do this).
Be aware holster compatibility between p365/x/XL and Macros is not a given due to different frame and trigger guard dimensions...
He's trying to distract you from the Rhodesian camo bag....
EDIT: When you got the S2H store and click on the jellyfish back, that option appears in the color menu as the page loads, then disappears....
I was at an outdoor range shooting pistols with the girl I was dating at the time, and the RO came over and asked if he could try a shot. We were shooting a Texas CHL target, which has very generous scoring zones, and a little mini silhouette on the top corner breaking down the point of each...
I've had a lot of success never thinking about anything other than mils, getting optics for spotting with mil reticles, and bullying hunting buddies into buying mil scopes as well.
I think you'll love it. I was at the range next to a guy with a Mk12, it was remarkable how quiet it was with the AEM suppressor vs my 12.5 gun with a JK armament can with 3 baffles.
Update on this, I went to the range with a new load using 140s instead of 156s and a milder powder charge. Very pleasant to shoot, but still not spotting hits. I will probably shoot out this barrel, then switch to a 6mm of some flavor. I realize I can just sell the VV N565 I have, so 6GT seems...
Quick update after a range day: Spotting 6.5mm holes in paper at 200 yds, no problem. Seeing hits on steel at 400-600yds, no problem. We used the binos to zero new loads and confirm velocity by measuring drops out to 600. The efficiency they bring to shooting trips is awesome.
The concern about...
I had the Cabela's branded Meopta 10x42s (the most upscale ones offered, they were 1k retail in 2017) for 5 or 6 years before switching to Leica Geovid 10x42 3200s. I do not know if that is the Leica model you are interested in.
My impressions have been from a pure glass standpoint, I was hard...
Agreed, thank you very much for taking the time to perform this comparison and post your conclusions.
Now.....given that we're on rokslide, it's time to start dropping rifles....
I went out to a local open space/preserve area this morning to test out the binos. I brought along my Leica 10x42s to compare. Both were used off a Sirui TO24sk tripod with a VA5 head.
Caveat: I do not have time looking through a lot of glass, and the only 15x + binos I've looked through was a...
Has anyone used these? I have a set with a mil reticle on the way via the maven demo program. I'm hoping they will bridge the all day glassing comfort of a big bino with the quick correction ability of a spotter with a reticle.
They will be a tripod mounted companion to my to Leica 10x42 geovid...
