UPS delivered the SWFA SS 10x HD today and I immediately mounted it in SWFA rings on my hunting rig. As much as I love my 3-12 LRTSi, the rifle lost 1/2 pound by me swapping it out for the 10x HD SS. Took it to my range and zeroed it. Zeroing was stupid easy, as it always is when you have a...
Does the 10x HD belong in the same category? I just couldn’t pass it up at this price…

Shot these five at 800 yards yesterday. Black dot is about softball size for reference.
Shot this sow with same load this evening at about 175 yards. Muddy spot is POI. 88gr ELD did the trick. DRT. Sow is longer than the rifle and weighs every bit as much as I do.

Hard choice between Moose and Elk with Caribou a close second, followed by Axis, Pronghorn then Whitetail. Depending on their diet, wild pigs can surpass Whitetail. Though I like Whitetail, it is easily my least favorite of the deer.
As far as birds go, Bob White Quail are easily my favorite...
Have a good friend who was a ranch foreman/cowboy before he went in the Army. He told me he much preferred to work Cattle on a mule as opposed to a horse because the mules were so much more predictable.

Took my heavy gun up to Jon Beanland of Beanland Custom Rifles to have an M24 contour Osprey Barrel Works barrel blank chambered and fitted in .22 GT. Jon does absolutely 1st class work and having used several ‘smiths over the years, I’m convinced there is no one that does better.
The .22 GT is...
I kinda see your concern with the flyers but the groups don’t look any larger to me than the thirty round group, so are they flyers? I wish I could run that test again, but that scope is now in Alaska…

There was no shift from 18” to 36”. There was possibly a shift from the 30 round zero, but I can’t say that with certainty because I made an adjustment in my attempt to refine the thirty round zero and did not verify it before the 18” drop test. You can see in the pics that there was no shift...
I wonder if the 1” tube is more susceptible to failure than the larger tubes. The 30mm Toric Hunting Scope I reviewed, and posted results here on Rokslide, performed perfectly.

Only 76,000 miles on my 2019 w/ 3.5 ecoboost, but so far, no problems. The amount of performance they can pack into that little engine is impressive. It pulls noticeably harder than the 5.7 Tundra I had before it, and does 5 MPG better than the Tundra did.

I haven’t noticed that the first round sounds significantly different than subsequent rounds. I can say that the above group was shot from a cold barrel, no difference in POI from the first round to the last, if that matters.

Still no criticism so far. You’re right about not much being said about them. Can’t figure why. Seems to be a good product to me. Shot this 10 shot group with mine from my .22GT, if that’s any indication of performance.

Currently using the Stealth Project Bolt Series .308 size. My first, so I can’t make any comparison, but It is good enough to where I don’t want to shoot without it.
