I found a guy frozen in the Sandia's with a bullet hole in his head and a handgun in his hand. I had cell service and I called 911. Police showed up and it was ruled a suicide. I felt bad for the guy as I just can't imagine life ever being that bad.
Also, on a side note, it's really easy to see how these groups get so many donations when the act like this:

"Victory" ? I don't see this as a victory, just a set back. However, in order to keep the donations pouring in, they have to show some progress...
This ^^. Read the ruling. It's not that big of a deal, and honestly the ruling against the genetic interchange BS is a huge blow to the people who filed the lawsuit. I feel that a lot of time, money, and resources was spent on this lawsuit, with very little gain. Slowly the anti-hunting groups...
Call them and talk with them. The customer service reps are great there. Also, Like you, I usually wear a large, but I buy my first lite gear in a medium.
You described that process waaaay to well......lol.
Seriously though water works great. If you can't stand the taste, there are cheaper alternatives to WA.
I live in a town North of the Springs and we like it alot. Denver is Awful, the Springs is only slightly better. You have a choice between liberals, high cost of living, mountains right in your back door, and tons of recreation, or Conservative, cheap living, and plains. I live in Monument, and...
More gear=heavier packs. I would say most people carry more than they need. There are a few essentials that you need to keep you alive (food/water, clothing, shelter, weapon), but most packs are filled with luxury items. Gas is my biggest annual expense for hunting.....
I just realized you question was about the Springs, not Denver. The Springs isn't as bad a Denver, it's actually where I live because I couldn't live in Denver. I commute about an hour and a half for work. However even the Springs is pretty busy. Like any city, it had nice areas, and not so nice...
I cannot stress enough how important it is to come for a visit first. Do what ever you have to do to come down here before you commit to moving here. I relocated to the Denver Metro area 8 mo ago, and two weeks into it I realize what a mistake I made. The Denver Metro is huge and expensive. Its...
Yes, there is big game hunting. And OR is a very beautiful, I loved every minute I spent there. Plus, you can always come back to CO to hunt, and Idaho is very close as well. Another point, I am not sure where in CO you are, but the front range is getting downright awful. Traffic is horrible and...
The only thing that OR has over CO is steelhead and salmon fishing. I still would never trade OR for CO. When I lived in CA I hunted OR. It takes 3-4 years to draw decent mulie/elk tags that have success rates in the 30%'s. You can do that every year here in CO, with much better success rates...
I noticed your in Casper. I have applied for jobs up there for years. Your work days sound like mine...lol. If you really want to make a change then you might have to consider leaving Casper and looking at a bigger metro area with more options. See for me my job isn't that bad, I just really...
Drink water, only water, and lots of it. Guys come to high country camp and still want their beer in the evenings and coffee in the mornings. Both will dehydrate you and are best avoided.
I have been lurking around this site for awhile now, and figured I would take the plunge. I have lived all over the country and just recently moved to Colorado. Not sure what to think about this place. Love the mountains here and the hunting is great. However, it's crowded, expensive, and the...
