    CO- Antelope

They don't live out there...just own land. They live in the front range now. I'll ponder it for a few days and see.

    High Country Weather-CO

Well...the snow sure did help. We walked over 35 miles during 4th season and encountered a decent herd in unit 6 and tracked them for about 2 miles. We could have all tagged out, just with the way they were in the tree's at 200 yards, running, grouped up...no ethical shot every really presented...

    CO- Antelope

I'm going out east to 116/117 for a 3 day pheasant hunt in December. There are a few leftover antelope tags here and I'm able to shoot on private land if one is there. Does anyone have experience with antelope out in this area or would it be a waste of a tag to buy?

    South Dakota public land pheasant?

Lived there for 9 years...there are a lot of good places through out eastern SoDak. Winner/Dallas/Colome are good. Redfield/Huron is good. There are a few decent spots around Sioux Falls even. A lot of land to hunt...even up north by Clark/Watertown or Aberdeen area. Pick a place and then just...

    Fort Collins Pheasant Hunting

I moved here form South Dakota a few years ago and just starting to get settled in to upland game birds again. I don't expect the same numbers as SoDak, but it there any places around Fort Collins that's within an hour drive that's decent? I know a lot of people say go east towards Sterling, but...

    High Country Weather-CO

Anyone know what the weathers like in the high country? Hunting 4th season cow in unit 6 this year...I know it's been dry and abnormally warm. Anyone know if there's snow up at 10-11k or any reports of the elk still being up that high. I have my spots and looks like I may be using my archery...

    4th Season CO Elk

This will be my first year hunting 4th season. I picked up a tag that was relatively close to home(FoCo) which is unit 6 in CO. Does anyone have experience hunting 4th season here? I've archery hunted it a few times and know there is a lot of winter range in the Walden valley. Just curious to...

    Fire Ban and Tent Stoves

UPDATE: I just talked to the FTC office and they have not lifted the ban. It's only lifted for National Forest Campgrounds. Check the colorado fire ban page to see what your regulations are. If you don't know, call the local forest service, parks office, or Sheriff's office to find out. They did...

    Trash in the backcountry.

Burn straight to ashes if you can...If not, carry out. I was backpacking this summer and we were about 7 miles in at our camp spot. You could tell there was a normal fire ring someone had built awhile ago. We were digging up around it to reinforce the walls and broke open a trash pocket in the...

    Kifaru Tut

I have a 6 man with box stove. easy 4 man with stove and gear pile. Can get a little crowded, but it works. Set up and take down is less than 5 minutes. Can withstand 50+mph wind easily. Just make sure to seam seal it to keep water out. Other than that, well worth the investment, especially if...

    When to bring the stove?

I usually will bring mine just for cooking and drying clothes out during archery. late season archery at 11K can get sketchy weather and i've hunted in the teens late September. It's worth the money and if you have another guy to carry it, let him while you carry tipi. I have a 6 man tipi with...

    Fire Ban and Tent Stoves

I called a few of the county sheriffs office and here in Colorado, they are suppose to be lifting them september 1st. I was told a tent stove, like my kifaru box stove was illegal to use during a fire ban. It has to be a permanent structure. Just call and ask...that's all you can really do. I'm...

    Colorado OTC Archery Elk

Hey Guys...i'd like a little input on unit 17 for early season archery. I drew my unit 7 tag, but a buddy of mine is a first time bow hunter and is wanting to hunt unit 17/181 as he late season rifle hunts here. I only have experience with Ryders Peak in unit 17 as i've hunted mainly unit's...
