Thanks for the info and link. I just watched a couple of videos on the edging jointer foot but still not sure how you are sewing your binding tape with it. Thanks again for the help.
Do you have any pics of the broke poles? I am using the REI pole with my Luna 6 and it has worked fine. I'm using the 6' but maybe I should upgrade to the 8' and cut it down like you mentioned. How hard was it to shorten and was it still adjustable? Was it the wind or snow load that broke the...
Willow, thanks and I'm working on the LED bulb. I don't know the part #, so I'm waiting on the machine to get the old bulb and take it to Battery and Bulbs here in Fairbanks.
It was supposedly just cleaned and oiled. It's coming with a zig-zag foot, walking foot, binder and other feet/attachments. Plus the 5 original cams, extra bobbins, copies of the original manuals and accessory box. What name brand needles are you using? I want to buy some 14, 16 & 18 size...
Would a Singer 401A be a good starting machine? Here in Fairbanks, Alaska there is not many places to look/buy machines. You can buy new ones but I don't want to invest a lot at first until I see I can/like sewing. I have found a couple of Singer 401A that are fairly cheap and shipping isn't to...
It would just be used for my personal use and I would like to be able to sew some thicker stuff. I would like to learn to make some of my own gear. Also, the sewing will all be new to me so I don't need a super fancy one.
I second the BPWD stove jack. I just had them install one in my Luna 6 and I like the extra flap that lays up against the pipe to redirect any water running down from the top.
I talked with the owner of VIAM today and he will make a 0* quilt. He will be adding it to his website soon and he uses 10 ounce climashield for the 0* quilt. Seems like a very nice guy and was very helpful.
That is what I'm working on now. I will be trying to call some places tomorrow to see what insulation/weight of insulation they use. If it's the same as others, then where is the difference in rating coming from?
Not trying to start a fight but when the sponsoring company says they want make you a synthetic quilt rated for lower then the 20* one they sell, then you look elsewhere for what you want/need. I'm not saying they are not a good company by no means, they just don't have what I am looking for.
