Very popular PRS competition cartridge. Lots of load data, etc. on Snipers Hide or PRS social media. "What the Pros Use" website should also have lots of information. Initially only available through GA Precision but now factory Hornady ammo (109 ELDMs) available.
Specifically designed to run...
Yes - I bought a donor Tikka 3006. Unscrewed the factory 3006 barrel. Screwed on a Tikka CTR 260 barrel I picked up cheap. I left the long action bolt stop in place - I guess I should replace the bolt stop too but so far no issues.
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4. 174000 miles. Love it. Looking to replace as mileage getting high - may replace with another lower mileage Ram 1500 as I do not trust the new trucks nor do I want to pay the $$ for the new trucks!
The Glock 19 is the easy choice for sure. However, I transitioned from the Glock family to S&W M&Ps 9mm a long time ago - Ilike the M&P trigger better. I carry a M&P 2.0 Compact with RDS daily and when time comes to out in the woods a M&P 2.0 9mm comes with me in a chest rig or a bino pouch.
I shoot a lot of 134 ELDMs for PRS and in my experience the actual BC is higher than the advertised BC. I have to true the BC higher in my Kestrel with AB for hits past 700 yards.
Retired to rural GA - acreage plus pond and newish house. I have neighbors with acreage who have livestock, goats, etc. One of the neighbors has multiple Great Pyrenees or similar livestock protection dogs. A few months ago, I was in my front yard and six of these Great Pyrenees type dogs (all...
I went to Sa and did a plains game package in 2023. I did not bring anything back but pictures. I can make a second trip for what cost of shipping/taxidermy. My house is not big enough for 7 more mounts. Got great photos though!
I see the Stellantis hate but my 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with 170k miles is still serving me well. Meanwhile, my "new" 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 was sidelined for a month waiting on a fuel pump control module and now class actions suits floating around on the transmission and the 6.2 motor...
The Bushnell Forge 15x56 punch way above their cost. Certainly not saying the best or such but they serve me well at PRS and other competitors are always positively surprised by them.
FYI - on my 2023 South Africa trip I was surprised at the number of rifles/bows that did not arrive in Jburg at the same time as the passengers. Seems like issue was connecting flights. I rented a rifle/ammo as I was focused on getting my wife through the whole travel process and frankly wanted...
I went to Limpopo region South Africa with wife in 2023.
1) we used Trophy Grade Safaris (TGS). Very pleased with the experience. Will do this again.
2) I did the plains package where you picked from several options. I liked that package.
3) We are from Georgia so Delta from Atlanta to Jburg.

I have some very nice older actions (Stiller and Defiance) that shouldered prefits are not available - I am using barrel nut barrels for them. I use shouldered prefits for Tikka.
I hunted in Wyoming for several years DIY on public land with some buddies - antelope and mule deer, a few years ago was able to regularly get deer and antelope NR tags without points. I am 64 now - after looking and researching the NR points odd, etc. - I just went to South Africa instead.
Closest harvest was bedded mule deer at 75 yards - one shot DRT. Farthest 350ish - another mule deer, Texas Heart Shot - DRT - went from right hip to front chest and lodged against front hide. In my experience, the front half of ELDX expands/fragments and the base drives through with deep...
Maybe not wealth - but serving in the National Guard for 20 to 30 years then retiring thereby drawing a significant pension at age 60 plus medical benefits for you and your family is the foundation of my retirement plan. Simultaneously I worked in the paper industry for 30 years maxing out 401Ks...
