Got into the ticks Saturday myself. I’ve been having troubles with noseeums the past couple years. Dozens of bites from sock to boxer. Itchy as hell.
What’s the remedy for preventing these things from going up my pant legs?

Purely anecdotal evidence, but I've got a friend and she's real holistic and made me repellent based on essential oils and I've used it on 4 trips from spring turkey to July through October deer, not a single tick yet.

Same as @MeatBuck I've got the bites all over my lower body. Gonna try tucking the bottoms of my pants into my socks and a hefty spray down of permethrin. Fingers crossed

The lightest weight full length base layer bottom you can find and hockey tape. Gets a little bit warm but I’d rather be a bit warmer then blow a stalk battling the ticks. I also wear a long sleeve base layer tucked into the bottom base layer.

Firstlite wick boot top bottom tucked into lightweight socks with hockey tape keeps the bugs out nicely.

Thanks for ideas... Tried an old pair of neoprene gaiters from some old stocking foot waders yesterday evening but can’t tell if they did any good for noseeums as I’m still all bit up from weekend. They were super tight so I think they could be the ticket but I’ll have to do a couple more hunts before I can be sure.
Ticks don’t really get up my pant legs, they usually make it to beard or head. I’m not sure if I’ve ever had em in crotchular region.
It’s the noseeums that nail me. Ive never seen any bugs just get dozens of bites. Happens when I hunt particular areas with dry crusty soil. Sitting around glassing a bunch is when its the worst. Hiking not so bad. image.jpgimage.jpg

I thought you were saying noseeums as a generic "bitten by something you couldn't see". Just realized they are actually a fly. I've got those bites all over too.

Saw three point again today back in his regular spot. Still hunted a bit and saw a doe and two fawns. Slow day but I only went a couple hundred yards from the truck so can’t complain. Three pack still mia.

Mentioned elsewhere, I covered several miles today and didn't even see a doe somehow. Lots of rabbits.

An oak rash is different than the individual bites I have.
This happens when I hunt the area we had chatted about. It’s in that crusty soil. Happens every year. When I get poison oak it’s usually between my knees from sleeping with hands between knees.
