ZeroTech TRACE ADV 3-18×44 FFP Shoot2Hunt

Can anyone tell me why I would pay $124 for the bumpers from S2H, when I can go directly to their website and get them for $69.95. Genuine question, am I missing something?
I think the question is more, “why would anyone pay $124 for scope covers?” I legitimately thought this was an April Fools joke until I saw the date stamp. This might be the most over priced hunting/shooting product I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something.

Have you used them, or other scope covers?

Also to the other guy, they’re not $70 on the website. That’s $70 for one cover. You need two. You’re saving money covering both ends of the scope on shoot2hunt vs buying from their site. Reading comprehension.

I say this having broken tenebrex, AADLAND, butler creek (these are a joke) covers repeatedly. Those are the best scope covers I have used.

If these didn’t exist, aadland are the best. But these do exist and do a number of things better:

1. The covers both lock and fold effectively flat, with very positive locking.
2. They cannot be knocked open.
3. They seal very, very well.
4. They are not slower to open than other covers.

Aadland are very good, however the thumb deployment on the rear is a snag and thumb destroyer.

I’ve not found cheap covers that I like. I don’t live/hunt in a wet environment, so that isn’t a factor for scope covers for me. It is dust/debris/protection. I have always preferred the Leupold Alumina covers. Those aren’t cheap either. Everything else I’ve tried I end up taking off and running a bare scope.

Can someone explain the box more and its function?

Short version: it speeds up the shot in several ways.

At its simplest, especially for closer targets you need to get on quickly, just put the target inside the box. It's a bit like the donut of death reticles in that respect.

At a little more advanced level, part of how it's speeding up the shot is that it's part of the overall reticle design, which is all engineered together to draw the eye right to the center aiming dot fast, in varying conditions. Don't think of the box as something separate from the overall reticle system - it's all integrated, including with some incredibly obscure understandings of the biomechanics of the eyeball even.

Another big aspect in how it speeds up the shot, is that its dimensions help with quickly estimating mils - it's a 1mil box, with a half-mil between any edge and the center dot.

One of the really fantastic things about this reticle, is that it doesn't require any specialized knowledge to use it as well or better than any normal reticle - but the more you learn, the more capability you get with the reticle in a steady progression.

That's the core of the box, as I presently understand it.

It’s always been the middle of the month. Sign up for the notifications and stop complaining about a non-issue.
Who said I wasn’t signed up? I signed up a long time ago. My point was, even if someone signs up and gets the email that a sale has opened but hadn’t checked email in a few hours, the opportunity is probably missed.

I’m sorry if it’s been said one way or another and missed it, but will the email notice given a date and time that the presale will open, or just a notice that it has been opened?

I am sorry that I haven’t been able to read every post.
The last sale lasted almost all day.

The email comes out the day before the drop, so if you check every evening you will have a heads up before it opens.

Neither one of you understands what is happening with these scopes. There is no “hype and drop”, and there is no “purposeful” limited supply.

Demand way outstrips supply. Orders for the scopes must go in 6 months before they are able to be shipped. S2H cannot absorb a million dollar inventory to sit on, nor do they have the ability to test 3,000+ scopes in one shipment before they go out. One of the reasons these scopes are $1,000 and not $2,500 is precisely because a huge inventory does not have to be sat on indefinitely.

People need to get their minds around the reality that S2H nor UM are like any other company. There are no investors, there is no private equity, there is no taking out loans to pay for items- it’s S2H and UM paying for it with what they have in the bank- exactly why items and products can be made the way they should be.
Think god, seems every good company goes to shit once the investors are involved.
Stay small, answer the phone and continue being upfront.

Read what he said a few times then read what I wrote. You may figure it out eventually but maybe not.
Ok then maybe you should have taken your own advice...
Absolutely. You see it most dramatically with these scopes and the Airlock suppressors.

This is a commercial website. And it's very good at what it does. But as consumers we have to maintain some level of self awareness and not get too hysterical over products that arent easy to buy, awesome as they may be.

I think part of it is the Amazon generation where you get what you want and you get it fast.
To which you said
6 months is fast to you?
Oh wait so he only mentioned the word fast in the statement were he said the amazon generation get what they want and get it fast... And thats why they get upset when things take take i.e. implying 6 months is not fast.

Come on clearly he was saying its what they expect and not that 6months is fast...

Unless your suggesting amazon takes 6 months which you aren't your reading comprehension probably needs looking at.

@Formidilosus I had two questions if you would be so kind Sir

I just bought a CZ 457 MTR, would this scope be a good choice on a 22lr? Shooting short and mid range groups on paper and plinking steel at longer range.

In regards to the reticles offered if I was buying this scope for range work and fun and games and not hunting for center fire and or rim fire, would the box reticle lose its benefits and I’d be better off with the standard mil reticle offered?

Thank you!

Just my 2 cents — if I were going with this scope for a 22 for targets, I would get the RMG-H reticle with its 0.06 mil center dot. The .145 mil center dot on the THLR would seem just too big to me on a target 22.

For a target .22, especially if using in something like NRL22, I would chose the RMG-H reticle.

Or even something with an xmas tree. Literally the one feasible scenario where you might need it and actually use significant amounts of holdover and wind.

On some stages with every shot at different ranges I prefer to hold to save time.
