ZeroTech TRACE ADV 3-18×44 FFP Shoot2Hunt

Im sure it has been mentioned but when is the next drop on these supposed to be? Im a little late to the party but interested in trying one out.

You can probably just watch this thread and/or subscribe to the notifications on the S2H website. Roughly speaking, I would expect the next drop to happen in mid April.

It sounded like it would open on the 1st of every month, but apparently not for this month.

It sure will be nice to know a date and time the next presale will open to plan around. Or else the same frustration for the first presale.

Watched the videos, read the threads, in for 2 scopes. Can someone explain the box more and its function?

You see more of with the hype-and-drop marketing system. Makers are creating this on purpose.
Absolutely. You see it most dramatically with these scopes and the Airlock suppressors.

This is a commercial website. And it's very good at what it does. But as consumers we have to maintain some level of self awareness and not get too hysterical over products that arent easy to buy, awesome as they may be.

I think part of it is the Amazon generation where you get what you want and you get it fast.

6 months is fast to you?

Neither one of you understands what is happening with these scopes. There is no “hype and drop”, and there is no “purposeful” limited supply.

Demand way outstrips supply. Orders for the scopes must go in 6 months before they are able to be shipped. S2H cannot absorb a million dollar inventory to sit on, nor do they have the ability to test 3,000+ scopes in one shipment before they go out. One of the reasons these scopes are $1,000 and not $2,500 is precisely because a huge inventory does not have to be sat on indefinitely.

People need to get their minds around the reality that S2H nor UM are like any other company. There are no investors, there is no private equity, there is no taking out loans to pay for items- it’s S2H and UM paying for it with what they have in the bank- exactly why items and products can be made the way they should be.

I did not intend to imply that S2H was up to anything nefarious or strategic.

Most of the hype is self inflicted. People get excited about cool new stuff. Scarcity is an unavoidable function of these companies just getting started, I don't argue against that. But it also ratchets up desirability, even if it's unintentional and unavoidable.

I just wanted to point out the environment so that people could recognize it, take a breath, and remember to practice over purchase.

We were talking about freaking out about products they can’t buy, and the sources of it. It happens when companies hype a product before they can deliver to the demand the hype creates. That’s clearly happening so congrats to y’all. I’m sure you’re not denying hype.

I accept everything you say, but you’re answering a different question —- why small batches are necessary and not artificially created. Obviously the product was hyped preproduction. The drops are objectively small. I’m not accusing anybody of constricting supply artificially to induce demand (though the constriction does likely induce demand).

I’m all for it. I’ve bought one and wish it was 2. It appears to be a best in class product at an unbelievable price that couldn’t be delivered with normal commercial behavior like financing.

I understand.

I would disagree in the use of the word “hype”, but that could be construed as slightly pedantic. “Hype” to me and most people means excessive promotion- and I don’t think any one can say that has happened. Almost all the information of this scope has come from me- as I am the only one with it (save the video made by Cliff Gray) and I don’t think one could say I have “hyped” the scope up at all. To the contrary I have told more people that they should not buy it, than I have that they should.

This is all fair commentary. And I’ll note my subjective opinion that you guys have done as good as possible under the circumstances. For what is ultimately an “indie” product, with a clear goal of changing the industry, the process used has been prudent.

The $999 price is also a statement.

Anyone know the distance from the bottom of scope body to the bottom of the flat under the elevation and windage turrets?

I am trying to see what height blaser mount I would need to mount one of these.

Edit: @Formidilosus you would probably be in the best position to answer this.

I’ll check. Remind me if I haven’t got back to you by tomorrow.
