Zeiss V4 Riflescope

Anybody have much experience with these? Seems like they can be had at a decent price, found a site selling display models for pretty cheap. Very lightweight and the zero stop function seems practical. Would be going on a ridgeline 300 WM. If I can find one of these for around $800 is it worth saving $400 vs the PST Gen 2? Or am I missing better options for around $1K or less?

In my opinion the v4 is the best scope under 1500. I would take it over any of its competition even at the same price range(<$1500). The only scopes I have not personally owned in that range is the SHV and Burris(which I will never own). The scope tracking is spot on, it has great glass for the price and the reticle is nice. If the scope checks your boxes buy with confidence.

I can't speak to the v4. I can tell you I bought a new pst gen 2 5-25 ffp for about $750 net.

I used active junky for their rebate and 20% off cabelas gift cards. Then I had cabelas pricematch to midway when it was on sale. Got a gift card back in the mail for the difference and got my new scope.

Waiting for the right timing and I'll buy another pst gen 2, but this one in 4-16x50.

I had to have Vortex send me 4 different Gen II PSTs to get one good one but damn they have a great warranty. My hunts are too precious to have that kind of reliability.

The first one the zero stop would not set. It would continue past zero when set. The second and third had catastrophic internal failure to the point where you could not see through the scope and the turret would not move the reticle. The forth was fine and I got rid of it. To be clear these were not repaired. It was four separate scopes. Your money is your money. I will not be purchasing a Vortex product in the near future. Too many other options that just work. I love everything about the company but like I said too many other options to deal with that.

The best warranty is the one you never have to use....

As a side note, the v4 4-16x44 is one hell of a scope...Performs way outside its costs - even at full retail.

The V4 is made in the same LOW factory as the NF SHV....

If you think the V4 is a good buy under $1500, you should check out the demo V6's at Red Hawk Rifles...they have a 3-18x50 for $1249. They have demo V4's too.

I was thinking under $1,000.... Redhawk has the 6-24 V4 demo for a pretty dang good price... Very tempting. Deciding between 4-16 and 6-24
