Zeiss Conquest V4 3-12x56 Turrets

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have had zero tracking issues with the V4.

I’ve had zero tracking issues with my V4 either but I’m an eastern US Hunter that hunts out of box blinds. The hardest fall my rifle will take is on a muddy cut corn field.

My v4 has also had no problem holding zero and dialing up and back to 880yds for 3 seasons of solid use. Its been knocked over on rocks in New Mexico barbary hunting, banged around out of the case sitting shotgun driving jeep roads in CO, hunted high elevations in 1st elk and early mule deer and performed flawlessly and has overall been very reliable. Am I going to test drop it 3x from 3ft? Not likely. Should everyone test fire any scope that suffers such a fall during a hunt to ensure zero? Yes.

Form have you filmed/posted field test results from a Zeiss V4 drop/tracking/rtz test? Also Is the (reported) testing regime done by Zeiss insufficient by your standards? Thanks

I have not done a V4 or V6 for the forum. I have done it to quite a few however. If Ryan gets one, then I will do it on a V4/6. I just did one on Zeiss’s LRP- it failed catastrophically.

To answer this question-

No, Zeiss does not check zero retention with impacts, nor zero retention from shooting. Shaking a scope around does not tell me whether it held zero or not.

Could this be accomplished with a fixture and a collimator, provided they simulated impacts?

In some ways, yes. Nightforce does something like that- you can watch videos of them doing it. However, you still need to shoot them to know.

Abused or used? Abused to me is purposely doing something with the intent to break or destroy it. That is not at all what I do.



This is a scope that was used as gingerly as I could from October to February. That is, the scope was being used for an evaluation of the reticle, and as best as possible could not be broken. I don’t know how someone would actually use a scope and have less marks than this-

No drops, no abuse and it still looked like this after three months-

This has also been my experience with the V4s I have. I have dropped them several times with a neoprene scope coat on, which might help????and have also taken elk and deer from 50 yards to 875 yards. Always dialed correctly and returned to zero.

My V4s are all on magnum 30 calibers as well. No, I do not shoot hundreds of rounds and crank my turrets a lot.
But for my style of hunting, and how I hunt, the V4 fits my needs. I can understand Forms test though.

Yes this is entirely different than my end of the country. My rifles literally dont have scratches on the rings or scopes. I could pull them off today and sell them as almost like new.

To answer the OP's question: No you can't convert a capped scope to a turreted scope. The actual scope housing is different.

Are you happy with the low light capability of the V4 in the box blind?
