With my kids hunting like crazy I need a second pair. I really like my Zeiss 15x60 and I have tried them next to friends 15x56 and remember if anything liking my Zeiss better. Am I crazy to look for 30 year old binos?

I dont think you are crazy. 30 year old Zeiss, Swaro and Leica were greatest glass in their day and are still great and better than 80 percent of whats out there nowadays. And you may be able to get a smoking deal. Fatrascal.

Just found a nice second pair of Zeiss15x60. Playing with them today what I like is how i can move behind the glas without distortions

Comparing the original SLC and Zeiss they were considered around here about equal. A noticeable difference was color. Many people liked the Zeiss color as it worked better for them in the field. SLC's were more compact, a bit lighter and fit in a pack better. The Zeiss is still viable and still seen often down here in Coues country. I still have a pristine pair of the last run that was ever manufactured. I owned several pairs over the years from the original hard plastic oculars to the previously mentioned last manufacturing run.

I do like the size of the SLC's and that you can use the doubler..
