You are receiving this message because you have purchased a sheep seal for the 2025-2026 hunting season. Please be aware that the Department of Environment has implemented a revised process for sheep biological submissions for the 2025 hunting season, and future hunting seasons, to strengthen our data collection process and ensure greater clarity and transparency when aging sheep.
Starting this season, the processing of biological submissions and inspections for sheep will be completed within two business days. If timing allows, inspections may occur at the time of drop off. Depending on the office, clients may be allowed to drop off items for later inspection or schedule an appointment for a specific day and time with a designated staff member or a Conservation Officer.
Our goal is to provide efficient customer service while collecting the most accurate data possible. Given the legal age requirements related to mountain sheep, it is essential that measurements and aging are conducted with precision.
Beyond the legal requirement, harvest data is extremely valuable and used to inform wildlife management decisions.
