What did you end up with for your sons? My son is 6 and I want to get him a deer rifle but he is small for his age so not sure what’s out there.
Well, I decided to somewhat to do myself despite my lack of bandwidth. I also decided that I wanted it to be able to shoot it as well if I wanted to--so a rifle that will work for a 5 year old up to a grown adult (with changing the buffer tube and stock configuration). I landed with the 22 creedmoor which is a round that I have been really wanting to shoot and play around with. I purchased a Lonepeak Fuzion TI action and am waiting for my proof carbon barrel to come in off backorder. I was pretty undecided on chassis but got a great deal on an MDT LSS chassis so thats what I am going to drop it into for now. Still haven't purchased the trigger but I have a credit with Triggertech so I will probably go that route. Still haven't purchased buffertube and stock yet--but leaning towards an XLR TR-2.

So definitely didn't end up being a budget rifle by any means--but should be fun once I get it done!

That is going to be a sweet rifle for everyone in the house! I’ve looked into buying a 22 creedmoor but cannot justify buying or building a rifle chambered in it because in VA it has to be above a 22 in order to hunt deer.
