Wow, your buck under the vent has amazing mass. That's what I think makes mine worth shoulder mounting. Great mount
I agree. If I do a shouler mount then a wall pedestal is the way I'm leaning. Just gotta figure out if I want left or right facing and if I want sneak or upright. Yours look great
What did your taxidermist do on the backsides of your mount? Not where it mounts to the wall but the small curved area where you can see in between the wall and the mount?
Your deer is great, definitely get that thing on the wall! I think he used that rustoleum stone texture spray. It’s nothing special, but you really can’t even see it anyway.

Funny, the two bucks you have on the lower right hand corner next to the cabinet are the two poses that I'm thinking about. Very nice

Here is a couple close up pictures of how I mounted them. We just got that barrel, and I took a piece of landscape timber and attached it to the drum. Top deer is just a regular deer, and the bottom is a full turn. I wanted you to see what the back of that full turn looked like.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

PRM: would love to see a write up on how you are doing these! They look fantastic
The deer was done by a friend who does great work. He also did the Blesbok/Impala. All the materials are available through normal taxidermy suppliers. I’m just the idea guy!

The deer was done by a guy in CO (Here). Very happy with his work. He really wanted to do a shoulder on this unique Muley but I just wanted a euro or something less expensive. He had another euro with the rocks and I really liked it. The snow and ice are to remind me how cold it was! Shot him right where I grew up so it was a special hunt opportunity.

Here is my latest. But I prefer a pedestal over this type of form

I agree with Robin Hood.....the Mckenzie 6900 series and the Mears forms are generally my go to forms as well. If I had to pick one of the two, I think Mears would get the nod, but that's just me.

If it's a big frame I may do ears forward but generally opt for ears slightly back. A semi sneak with a slight turn one way or another generally depending on a look I remember during the hunt. Wall pedestals are a good choice with a hard turn if there's some characteristic you're trying to show off such as heavy mass or abnormal points. Remember, some full uprights take up a lot of wall space height wise depending on how tall the rack is and the form you choose....and just my personal opinion "most" of the full upright mounts I've seen don't look natural nor do they look that great to me. However, that's just my opinion.

I'm leaning towards to semi sneak 6900. Just need to figure out where it's going to hang on the wall which will dictate what the exact pose (left or right facing) will be.

These are the boys. I set them up in my office to represent the 3 species, but the one in the middle is very unique and very few people will ever see one, much less take one. I hunted him for 2 years with my bow and couldn't get it done. Drew a rifle tag and made it happen.
The two on the ends score nearly the same - the middle one cannot be officially scored - there is no scoring system that I am aware of.

Is that a whitetail/muley hybrid?
