Mine is a basic 300 Win, Remington 700 action, Hart barrel, Leupold scope, McMillion stock put together by RW Hart in PA. It shoots 1/2 MOA with 175 gr Barnes LRX. I got it over 20 years ago and its still my favorite rifle.

My Rem 700 300 Win that was accurized, rebarreled with a Lilja barrel and restocked with a H-S Precision stock by Hill Country Rifles. I can keep most everything I shoot out of it under 1 MOA and most of the time hovering around .5"

I have killed elk with an array of calibers and different rifle setups! however, I have never failed or been as successful as when I was using my Belgium Browning in a 300 Win mag with 180 Nosler partition bullet. It was the most accurate rifle I ever owned out of the box and easy to load for at the bench.

My current favorite rifle for killing big elk, is a super grade 338 Win mag in a model 70 Winchester, using a 225 grain TBBC bullet!

I do have a recently constructed wildcat, I am hoping to use on elk this coming season. It is the 300 Ultra mag, I had rebarrel to a 338/300 Ultra Mag.

1000yrds - My 300 Win loved 150gr TBBC's. That is what I shot the deer with in my avatar. He was quartering away from me at 173 yards. I hit him right in front of the right hip and the bullet traveled through him and lodge just under the skin at the left shoulder. He only went about 30 yards after being hit. I still have the bullet. I wish I could find more of this ammo but Federal doesn't load it anymore that I can see. It would be a good elk load I'd think.

Love my Tikka T3x 6.5 CM, .4 MOA rifle with handloads. Back that up with a 127 gr LRX and I feel pretty comfortable that I'm going to put that bullet where it needs to go.

What kind of accuracy are you getting with the LRX? My Tikka CTR 6.5CM does >0.75 MOA pretty easily with cheap factory 140gr range ammo (Hornady American Gunner). I haven’t started reloading yet, but the LRX was one hunting bullet I was looking at.

Usually a Savage Hunter 30 06 with 180 accubonds under 54g of H4350. Quickly becoming my favorit is my son's Ruger 7mm 08 with 140g accubonds.

If I can get a load for mine, I’m hoping it’ll be a 325 wsm browning a bolt mountain ti with 200 grain accubonds and a Vx3i 2.5-8x36
Right at 7 pounds unloaded

My cousin has one of those, if I can remember I'll ask what load they worked up for it. It's a tack driver.

I've used that same combo on a few bulls and it works pretty dang good.

Although I have several rifles that will do, my dedicated elk rifle the last 10 years has been my customized pre 64 M70 300 H&H in an Echols legend stock w/ swaro Z3 3-10x42... it just keeps working for me.

The .4 MOA is with cheap hornady 129 grain interlock reloads. I didn’t get a chance to come up with my own load before hunting season with the LRX, but with factory ammo I was getting .8 MOA 5 shot groups. I’m pretty pumped to start reloading with them.
