Oh cool, didnt realize you were from MN.

Im largely an obsessive grouse hunter these days and thats what I am doing pretty much every day from the start of October until late Nov, but could always count on deer camp at my cabin in WI with my buddies to get some venison for the freezer, recently our deer population is way down where I hunt though. I still tend to get one but we generally split up the meat between the guys there and my share has been a little light lately so adding in MN ML season is helping out. Im usually done with grouse on WI rifle opener so it all works out well. Im close enough to the cities that anything near here is more crowded than I like regardless of when I go but its not too bad in early Dec, the nice weather this year didnt help though.
I duck and deer hunt a lot, both have been very poor the last couple years. Grouse hunt on the days I’m not doing the other two. ML is the only reason I’ve shot a deer the last three years. I have a wolf and love it. It really likes the Barnes 250gr spitfires.

Do you reload. Curious what twist your barrel is and what grain bullet it likes. Mine is a west German made with 1/12 twist. Likes 130 grain pills but have a hard time with accuracy with anything heavier probably because of my twist rate.
I don't reload. My rifle is prior version of the Weatherby Mark V Hunter (no cerakoting), so I'm guessing the twist is probably 1/10. It shoots phenomenally with Weatherby's 130 grain Barnes TTSX ammo. It shot equally well with their 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips, but that ammo is pretty hard to find these days. I stocked up on the Barnes TTSX ammo so that I don't have to worry about running out anytime soon :)

Remington 788 in 308 for my 11th birthday. Had a Weaver 1.5-4.5 widefield scope with tip-off mounts. Still have the gun but haven't shot it in probably 30 years.

I killed one deer with it then sold it for a cz550fs in 6.5x55. I’ve since sold that and bought a few others.
I generally get a few seasons with a rifle, get bored of it, then buy something else.
