Lots of great bucks everyone. Congrats. I am especially interested in those ID bucks. Hadn't seen them before, very impressive. Looking forward to bowhunting ID soon. I need to check the archery regs as I was told I need to take a bowhunter education course. Can you tell me what that consists of muleyman?

I hear you on that one. My copy literally goes everywhere with me. It is a permanent feature in my computer bag. It was even used in the hospital 11 days ago when my daughter was born as a camera prop!!!

THANKS DAVE!!! AND TO MARC SMITH....I won it at one of his seminars. HAHA Even made him sign it by his story on Satan's Hole buck. Its funny b/c Marc is a good friend he thought it was stupid :)

Evan, did you win it at the ISE show in Denver this year? I was at the Eastman booth when Marc Smith had me sign a couple of books that he was giving away at his seminar.

Muleyman, I think you should be my guide in Idaho this fall....hehe....that thing is a TOAD! Congrats!

Idaho is the only state I have hunted more than once but have yet to put my tag on a buck. Maybe this year :)

I ain't muleyman but I have taken the "bowhunters safety course" :) All it consists of is a class type setting similar to the "hunter's safety course" where you go over basic safety, types of bows, what's legal/what's not in ID, and other things I'm sure but I can't recall at the moment as I took it over 7 years ago! ;) But then you have to do a "field day" where you go over treestand safety, follow a blood trail, shoot your bow at a 3 target, and I'm sure a few other things I can't remember as well lol. But it is a very easy course if you pay attention and read the material you are supposed to... And I see you live in WY, and now you can actually take the class and final test online, and all you'd have to do is the field day. That is how it is for residents anyways, as far as non-res goes you might be better off calling the IDFG to be sure what is needed as a non-res...

Hey David do you hunt OTC in ID? S. ID by chance? Not looking for anymore info than that, as I'm just curious. :) If I don't draw my intended tag (keeping fingers, toes, and eyes crossed in hopes to draw it again this season) ;) but if not maybe I'll run into you in the OTC unit I have been spending ALOT of time in the past few years... ;)

Thanks guys, I'll try to post the video of his big brother.

Scott JuanId pretty much nailed it on the archery ed. course.

David, you and Robby have contributed more to my mule deer hunting arsenal of tactics than anyone else I would say you're welcome in my camp any day!

MC, I just noticed your buck at post #97 pg, 5. (this thread is getting so long, it's hard to see all posts). That is a great buck!

I think killing "flatland" deer as you call them can be tougher than the high country. Maybe not physically, but archery hunting bucks around the cover is hard because you can't just sit back and glass them very well. The best archery buck I've killed lived in country like in your pic. I put 40 days over two seasons in that buck before I got an arrow in him and still almost lost him. I saw him about 8 times in two years, within a square mile, but he was always near the protection of the cover. My hat's off to you. Welcome to Rokslide.

Vandal,
I have the lab report back on your Colorado buck. You'll never guess how old he was. Check your PM.

Thanks Matt! I figured that I'd help you out and post the pic of your CO. buck from last year. It looked like your computer was kicking your butt as bad as the pack job on that buck kicked both our butts. So everyone knows this buck grossed 208 typical! He has some crazy deep forks, great mass, and matching cheaters off his G-3s. It was an incredible hunt, congratulations again!

These are my favorites. While he's not my biggest buck, my son hiked 4.5 miles "to see daddy's deer". That was a great day.

Hunting Pics from Jenn's Old PC 166.jpgThis is one of my favorite pics. My wife surprised me with a Mexico Muley hunt 5-6 years ago. My dad decided he wanted to go which was awesome. Not only did I get to share this hunt with him and connect on my largest Muley to date, but we had a great time together. Neither of us speak Spanish so we had no choice but to get along :)
