Grew up using grandpas Win Model 70 Pre 64 30-06 he got in Japan. Received a M70 Pre 64 338 Win Mag as a gift and got a cow elk two years ago with it.

Nowadays: CA Ridgeline 300 Win Mag. It really likes Barnes TTSX BT 180 gr (copper) for factory rounds.

Killed most my bulls with a 6.5 x 284 and a 6.5 PRC. I’ve been pleased with both. The 6.8 Western intrigues me for an elk cartridge but I can’t imagine myself going down that road unless we see a major shift in adoption for that round with some better quality factory ammunition available.

I ordered a 7PRC but ultimately cancelled it after shooting a friend’s. Just hard for me to move up to that recoil bracket after having such good results with my 6.5s..

Last 2 bulls were with a 28 nosler. The ones before that were with a 300 win mag. I hunt deer and hogs with a 7-08. I moved to the 7's because they feel more comfortable to shoot . At least thats what I tell myself lol. I really want to take an elk with the rifle my dad got me for my 12th birthday though. It's an old marlin 35 rem lever. That rifle has never shot anything other than paper. I won't let it go because my dad got it for me . Still has the old bushnell scope on it.

30 Nosler, 200gr accubonds have been considering going down to a 7mm of some kind but probably wont I shoot suppressed and that makes the big 30s very comfortable at least for me.

Currently run a Winchester model 70 in 300WM. Hoping to build a semi custom tikka in 300WM on an element chassis before next season though.

I just got my 6.5 SAUM built and it shoots awesome with a suppressor!

Suppressed X Bolt Speed has been my go-to the past couple of years. 300 WM is much more pleasant when suppressed. Shocked by how much the perceived recoil has gone down with that addition.

This year will be a Weatherby 307 Alpine chambered in a 7prc topped with a Steiner H6 rifle scope! Good luck this year!
Do you already have this? Curious how it shoots? I'm dying to get my hands on one, that MDT chassis has me in a chokehold lol.
