270 WSM. 140 gr accubond. Browning A-bolt. Used to be Winchester model 70 in 270 WSM same loads. I broke the stock and bent the barrel like a noodle when I rolled my atv 800+ feet down a mountain. Nothing wrong with the scope and mounted it on the Browning.
Hmmmm...........choices, choices.
Well, the caliber is subject to how I feel at that moment.
Could be a 6.5 x 284, 308, 6.5 prc, 6.5 creedmoor, 223.
The rifle is the easy part.
It will be a tikka.
Probably gonna be the 223 this year.
All but 6 of mine have been bowkills, but those 6 were killed with a (now) 40 year old Parker Hale .270. My wife is the rifle hunter in the family and shoots a Tikka .308. I guess we're old fashioned, but we eat a LOT of elk.
28 nosler. Carbon rifle. Not particularly married to it but I switched from a 300wm that was composite to a carbon rifle due to joints getting older and it weighs less. Both very effective rounds.
35 Whelen AI built on a Mauser action with Shilen barrel and High-Tech Specialties stock (early Bansner). Over a dozen elk and a number of muleys and whitetails.
