What are everyone’s biggest goals in 2025?

2025 is a big year for my wife and I. We are having our first child in June, I get out of the military in September and will hopefully be starting a new career right after. So my biggest goal is going to be making the transition out as smooth as possible for my wife and little girl. Don’t know how much hunting I’ll be doing in 2025 but always like watching others success on here.

So let’s see em, what are your goals for 2025?

Heading west for elk in September. Getting a new area scouted out on National Forest the next couple months before leaf out. Get my new kayak on the river a dozen times before fall. Spend every minute I have outside of hunt prep and fishing with family. Life is good.

Have a bear hunt booked for August up in Canada. Wisconsin whitetail hunting. Headed to Timber Lake SD for an annual pheasant hunt with my buddy. Who knows what else the year might bring!

Personal: continue on with “getting in shape”, pay off a few outstanding debts, build a chicken coop and play set for my daughter, continue with my sobriety journey

Hunting/ outdoor: fish the Mississippi River for the first time, hunt grouse in N. Wisconsin, have an elk within bow range, go on a deer or hog hunt with my brother when he returns from a deployment.

My goal is to enjoy living a little more. I feel my wife and I have really lost track of doing the things we love. We are doing a week in the mountains which we haven't done in a few years. She is going to Italy for a couple of weeks with some friends. I am going to do my first Alaska hunt for Caribou, which I have been putting off for too long, hopefully with my Dad but he is on the fence. Time to live a little.

Personal...I want to win an overall in my next fitness competition. Possibly pay off my house.

For Hunting etc...Hit 1500 at the Western Classic

Fill both my bull tags this year.

Kill a good Tom with my bow.

If I dont fill one of my elk tags, I want to leave with no regrets after the season. Which means I put in a full effort...

I really need to take conitrile of my weight and shed around 45-50 pounds. So much easier on my knees and joints.

I do pretty well hiking and hunting some big steep country now - can only imagine how much better it would be doing it at 205-210 pounds vs 250.

Personal: managing some nagging injuries and regaining a high level of fitness.

Hunting: Mule deer out west if I draw, Big Whitetail here in Ohio if I don’t draw.

To the OP, good luck transitioning from military to civilian life. Don’t rule out the National Guard or Reserve. I didn’t plan to join when I left active duty, but I did. I ended up retiring from the NG with 20 total years of service. Glad I did.

Draw any tag in WA, I know I'm dreaming. Hopefully getting a shot at the massive WT I seen in MO this year on my property. I got a good one eventually, but not close to the dude I seen earlier in the week. My buddy has a pic of him from a week ago so he's still alive. A bit haggard looking so I hope he survives.
