Knowing how many stock nerds are over in the "Buying in the Dip" thread, I figured I'd ask the fine folks of Rokslide about NFTs.

I know enough to lose a lot of money if I started playing in them and I understand how we can maybe use them for perks to the holder, and as collectibles but didn't know if I was alone on here.

Think of them as a 1 off digital baseball card. They are basically a made up picture by the artist, and worth what someone is willing to pay.

Some people are buying and reselling the actual pictures for annual salary’s and up to millions. I don’t understand the hype, so for that I’m out. I’ll play the NFT stocks when they start going but that’s about it.

I own a whole pile of them. Have owned and flipped BAYC, WOW, and a pile of others. Still hold plenty of top shot moments and several nfts within the Veve app as well as a Vee Friend on day one. I think this space will really blow up after the BTC bull run finishes up. Been buying up Ecomi, Superbid, MANA, Enjin, Flow, and Lukso monthly since about the first of the year. I think most of it is silly, but it makes complete sense to me. Listening to some of Gary V's reasoning for why this space is blowing up and will be an absolute monster is worth your time!

Here's a handful of articles posted up today. Probably nothing......

What platform are you using to buy these?

They are going to be absolutely massive with play to earn games and tons of other uses. I havent minted any cuz of the ridiculous Ethereum gas fees. Sometimes itll cost 2-3 times the amount of the NFT. But if youre doing it now its the equivalent of buying a $100 bitcoin.

Veve app for NFTs as well as open seas. Or I buy NFTs direct on release using a metamask wallet. Last night I picked up a new project (crypto athlete) that way.

The coins you can find where you can buy them by looking up the coin on coingecko and looking under "trading pairs". Enjin and mana are available on coinbase. The others I believe are all on uniswap or gateio.

Edit - except for OMI, which I buy off of bitforex. I have a lot of this coin. It's in the top 100 and not even on any major exchanged yet.

What about creating them? I sold all my enjin on its last high. I also own other crypto that has platforms for creating them. Is it worth just creating some and seeing if someone will buy them ???

Here’s an example why I don’t jack with them, a pretend pet rock for $1.3 milky.

Or the degenerate apes that sold for about $1 Mil each. It’s nuts

I have a hard enough time figuring my phone out, not even going to mess with crypto transactions, switching back and forth.

You got in on a Vee Friend huh!? Thats legit. Yeah, I do think Coinbase is going to be the hub of a lot of this infrastructure as it reaches critical mass, but the other sites will be popular with the true NFT gamers.

Since there is no regulation around NFTs and very little around crypto, I am skeptical to what is truly happening behind scenes.

There are not many people in the world who had millions to spend on something like an NFT, so how are all these NFTs going for millions?

Most super rich people don’t spend their money foolishly. That’s why they’re rich. And there cant be that many idiots blowing inheritances. A billionaire is t going to blindly buy NFTs for fun. Maybe a collector but most people collecting and spending millions are not young tech people. They old and want super rare old stuff. I dont see warren buffett with a basement of NFTs…

I think the majority of this stuff is a scam to launder money. My two cents.

I have a few dumb questions:

How do you display these NFTs? Do you have a dedicated Monitor? They're all electronic, correct? So if the power goes out, you have to wait to see it again?

They're not really for displaying in that way. You can see them in your crypto wallet... kinda like having a binder of baseball cards under your bed like I had for the longest time. They're cool to collect and say, "I own the --- number of that one." But not really meant to display in the way you're talking about.

Most NFT's aren't selling for millions. More like a couple of cents. So "all these NFTs going for millions" is more like a select few that get into a buy-up frenzy from the folks aged 35-50 whose wealth has been made in the tech startup game or by being early to BitCoin ~ 10 years ago.

How many real wealthy folks collect baseball cards? Probably not many, but there still is a handful of folks out there who think a 1909 Honus Wagner card (essentially a worthless piece of cardboard) can be worth a cool $6.6M.

Y'all should check out some of the cool s**t the state of Wyoming is doing to legitimize crypto transactions as a business. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/h...omised-land-for-bitcoin-investors-11619201182

Theres a lot of people who will be able to display them in Metaverses that are currently being created. Think of it like GTA where its an open world where you have businesses and houses/land.

Thanks for swooping in here. I'm still over my waders on a lot of this stuff. What's a good example of a Metaverse to get started in?

This is sounding more and more like that game "second life" that was popular in the early 2000s.

Yea its overwhelming lol. Theres some like Decentraland, TCGCOIN and lots of others that are going to be created very soon. The way they explain it is think about going to your favorite celebrity virtual house in the metaverse, lets use Logan Paul for example - and he will have all of his NFT's displayed on the walls of his virtual house. Or in gaming it will be certain skins and you will be able to collect and they will be unique. Which other people will want and pay ridiculous amounts of money for. I watch people like Ellio Trades, Alex Becker and JRNY Crypto - they explain it very well.

I think Crypto gaming and NFT's will be one of the biggest industries in the next few years. Kids dont care if the economy or if Bitcoin takes a dump - they will keep playing games. I would keep a close eye on what Immutable X, Seedify and BigTime are doing in the near future.
