I have a Kifaru Late Season I use for skiing and travel. I use a Nomad for hunting, backpacking, hiking and training. I tried using the taller pack for skiing but it restricted my head movement too much. I found 22" to be as tall as I want to go when I'm skiing.

I use my DT2 all year around - turkey hunting, backpacking, and hunting. It's a little heavy for backpacking, but it's the only one I have. I don't ski with a pack.

Oh yes, I use my Nomad. Hauled stuff up 12 flights of stairs moving my daughter into her dorm. Carry 80lbs of corn to my feeder or for hand spreading EVERY time I'm at my lease. Training hikes on the weekends or just walking the dog. I look for opportunities to use it. I love my "fancy pants" Nomad back pack more and more all the time.
