For those of you that went with 22” barrels on this setup; do you wish you would have went 20”???

I’m building a Tikka in 7PRC and I have an XLR to dump it in. I just picked up a 22” Proof prefit for a good deal but I had been debating a 20” Oregon mountain rifles prefit…

I want to eventually run it suppressed but that might be awhile.

Thoughts?

I went with 20”. Just my preference, but 20 and below is very manageable with a suppressor, I don’t think 22 would be back, just about what you want to do with it and what kind of velocity you want. Just got my xlr yesterday so it’s time for a barrel swap and then she is good to go!

My initial plan was to go 20” but I couldn’t pass up the deal on the Proof Prefit 22. After looking at everyone’s builds though I’m debating again at returning the Proof and ordering a 20” haha.

For your situation id rock the 22”. Proof is typically a good barrel. I’ve read a few questionable things on here about OMR. And the folder really makes it easier to pack. Take the 75fps…why you went with PRC anyway.

Probably a good call. I’m thinking I’ll maybe give OMR a chance on a 16” 6PRC or something later on haha

Check out the Sampson SAS with the compact adapter. It’s solid and only 3oz more than the smoke folder for $170 cheaper. Tool less full adjustable too.

An MG and an AL with Samson SAS. I'm moving away from these, but I do still feel they're the best of the chases.
