Wyoming residents can get an elk tag at Walmart whenever they want. And a Region G deer tag.
That’s to much of a burden on those poor residents. Maybe next year they can add a bill that will demand non-residents drive up, pickup, and deliver those tags to residents. And when the out of staters do so they should feel very lucky that Wyoming grants the privilege to possibly look at their state owned wildlife. They could turn that into a whole separate draw system

Didnt know that thought the complaining was about residents weren't able to get a tag every year. So why more tags to residents if they are already getting a tag every year? Is it about to many nonresidents shooting elk? Or the money? how much do residents pay for tags?

And they will still be limited even at 90/10

And? The poster above didn't understand that Wyoming residents can hunt all the deer, elk, and antelope they want with a tag from Walmart. I was responding to him. I'm guessing many people don't understand that and feel like poor Wyoming residents are going without food because of rich people moving in on their tags.

This is about trophy tags and trophy hunting. Nothing less, nothing more. Just like delaying the resident elk draw, what it really was about was getting more trophy tags into the hands of residents. Oh, well.

Eventually cow elk tags will be full price for nonresidents and you will be told you are lucky you can get them.
I have a buddy who pays full price for a cow tag every year right now. He's done it for years. He is a meat hunter and wants to hunt every year. He might change his mind with this price jump.

I agree. This new split isn't going to solve the "limited" problem for residents.

In Wyoming as a nonresident? I can see that. Probably has a higher percentage success rate.

I gave up on Wyoming years ago..I’ll fish and do coyote and if I get time some birds but I will take my big game elsewhere. FYI if you talk with ranchers they want the antelope whacked and an archery tag should be half what it is. Our success rate is limited as it is so a price at 250 if fair...hell it should 10 bucks for a traditional bow tag!!!!

Well folks there is some good news out there, wildlife conservation in WY has plenty of funding from resident wildlife NGOs and resident volunteer work so they really won’t need that revenue from the non-resident tag/license/PP. If 90/10 for LQ tags is good, why not go to 95/5 or even 100/0? Wouldn’t that be better if you don’t need NR revenue? I wouldn’t want NRs to “overplay” their funding hand.

Wyoming's distain for NonRes isnt limited to just the WGF et el.

Wyoming residents dont even like the Colorado green license plates coming to visit! They call em 'Greenies'

But the Wyoming residents dont think twice about coming to Colorado for some real culture.

Backwards at best.

I think this whole thing started when Kanye West couldn't draw a tag for his own ranch.

On the topic of resident LQ tag prices, I’m guessing if residents had to pay current NR prices most would (just hasn’t come to that...yet). Most of these tags in question are not fill your freezer type tags, for R or NR. Doe/cow/general opportunity will be there for the foreseeable future, especially elk as most herds are over objective.

Goal posts are moved if this passes, which is the difficult aspect from an objective standpoint... however, game and fish quota adjustment for various other reasons could do the same thing. Points are troublesome but necessary if you want to have a chance in the future.

One last thing, NR emailing on behalf of WOGA... tell them you want access to wilderness before you hit the send button in opposition to this senate file!
Sir I was going to say the same, be sure to ask Sy if he will support removing the wilderness law for NR, you'll see then how much he is on your side.

We can not just go to Walmart and buy pronghorn tags, well maybe the very few left after the leftover draw. The licenses we can go but OTC are usually all General licenses. LQ is the rub, not general tags.

When I move to Wyoming I’m bringing my black gay transgender grandmx and all hxr liberal grandkids with me (and we all vote, some of us multiple times!).
Eventually more CA transplants will move there, it’ll change with time and the residents will be pissed people are moving there, some people just can’t be happy.

Maybe we should all buy vacation homes and live there 7mo out of the year.
