Like who? Colorado? Montana? They both offer significantly more opportunities outside of any otc, I can draw dozens of units in Colorado with 2-4pts.Do you mean Non-Residents? Residents don't have a point system for elk.
Maybe insane until you compare to what other states are doing. Wyoming is generous in their tag allotment to non-residents. Guessing that won't last forever and 12 years will look attractive compared to what it will be in the future.
Sure, they could price people out to lessen the wait for the rich guys but that is hopefully a strategy they don't ever go to.
Montana general is 3or under on points. I assume your referening
Nevada, Utah, maybe New Mexico. Outside of Utah think there force residents to draw a tag, kinda of a novel idea. Again I’m not saying residents should have to draw a general tag, I am saying that I shouldn’t have to wait 7-12yrs to draw a general tag when a resident buys one every year at the gas station. There has to be a middle ground.
