This will be my first time hunting in WY since I was around 14 or so. Now I'm 31. I drew my first choice in the special draw with 5 points. Should be a fun hunt!

Applied in the special and didnt get the tag due to point creep. I thought for sure I would draw it even had vacation days scheduled for it. I had enough points to draw it last year then 1 point less this year... Frustrating to say the least.

We drew 88-1, worried about creep and really wanted to hunt antelope this year so here we go! No go on doe tags though...

I have a question about the draw results.. on the report where it shows each unit, available tags, quotas, issued, etc.. each line is a different amount of preference points, but it goes 4, <4, 3, <3, 2, <2, and so on.. what is the difference between <3 and 2, or <2 and 1? What is that "between" number for?
The couple answers above gave you a little info, but there is a little more to the answer.

That symbol (< ) you see is the "less than" symbol. Since the preference points, when averaged, are carried to four decimal points there would be 10,000 possible numbers to list between each whole number, way to many to list each possible average number. So, instead it is listed in the draw odds as 4 and on the next line down <4 and so on.

Each one of these possibilities is kept separate in the drawing data base, so a group of hunters with a preference point average of 3.0478 would draw before a group of hunters with a preference point average of 3.0477.

I hope this makes sense.
