How is the deer hunting in wyomings desert units? I am interested in 94 mostly because it is a unit I can draw easily and I would think that with such a short season (6 days I believe) some bucks would be making it to maturity. Unfortunately it seems like its very hard to get away from a road but I'm sure there are spots with limited pressure. Any advice woud be welcome. Thanks!

There is always a chance at a mature buck if you can scout, get to know the areas that hold deer and if you archery hunt. The drought and desert coyotes have had a big impact and decrease in the overall population in 94 so it’s down to a very short season and a 3 point restriction but there are always a few good bucks in that rim rock country if you’re willing to put in the effort and get away from the swarms of ATV crowd.

An important not about 94 is that it is a General tag. You could hunt 94 and hunt all the rest of region L as a nonresident with the same license, so you might have a chance to bail on the desert and hunt elsewhere if it doesn't pan out. In the desert... there's deer out there, but they are about as few and far between as information given about them. Glass dawn and dusk and see if you can pick one up, but it'll be a fun challenge.
