CO OTC.....sure. WY......5 points? Not a chance.
Lots of talk. Kind of like going to the bar when your single. I'll bet most of them slip out the back with that elk before they hit the lights. Some of the opinions in this thread are eye opening. I have hunted and guided general areas in Wyoming since the 80s. That bull would be in the top 5% of elk harvested in most general areas. If you don't want him, you need to be prepared for tag soup or you should hold out for a LQ tag.
No kidding. Funny how many guys are saying they will pass a great shot on a 5 pt in archery in a general season.Lots of talk. Kind of like going to the bar when your single. I'll bet most of them slip out the back with that elk before they hit the lights.
I’m shooting.
I’m 5 PPs deep and a NonRes tag.
Those alone are worth over $1200.
I don’t practice and get in shape each year to let a 5pt walk.
My days of needing to impress anyone are long gone.
it said ONLY 6 days to hunt.A general tag during archery is far from “general” in terms of possibles. I’d pass.
OTC CO different story.
it said ONLY 6 days to hunt.
Whatever you want to do man. Sounded like you thought you had all season to hunt. You will probably shoot a 350 this year with your skills. What's your point? 6 days isn't exactly a weekend and I'm not shooting that bull on day 1 or 6. (edit on a WY tag) To each their own.
you ever ate a elk burger before?I’ll be there this year with 4pts. This will be my 5th year to elk hunt and still haven’t killed one. I’m not shooting that one. Wish me luck ha.
I’ve never shot a 300 with “my skills,”but I have a pile of bulls just like that one posted and i don’t need another on a hunt that I’ve waited 5 years on. A WY general tag is like a limited tag from what I’ve seen, and experiences and a lack of quality bulls was not an issue.Whatever you want to do man. Sounded like you thought you had all season to hunt. You will probably shoot a 350 this year with your skills.
Seriously? That’s like a 200 inch bull. I thought Wyoming had bigger bulls than that. Some of the opinions in this thread are eye opening. I have hunted and guided general areas in Wyoming since the 80s. That bull would be in the top 5% of elk harvested in most general areas.
