Opening week or last week of the season. I'm considering going the last week, in hopes of some weather. I also like the idea of havin an elk tag in my pocket. But my goal is a big mulie so should I stick to opening week?

Do both if you can...if not and you have time to scout this summer I would do the first week. Turn up a good and he should be there on the 15th.

Last week can be hit or miss. Most years it seems like we get a pretty good snow storm the first week in Oct. A few years ago I hunted the last few days and had knee deep snow.

I live in idaho so I have Oct to hunt Muleys with a gun....I like WY cause I get the opportunity to hunt with a gun in sept.

If you are hunting one of the units that have the Sept 26 elk opening date, first week (actually second week of deer) would be my pick.
