WY antelope, looking for semi-guided hunt

Hey guys, I'm starting to plan a WY antelope hunt for next year (2017), I'd really like to do the hunt ourselves, but would be interested in unguided, but assisted services. Basically pay someone a reasonable fee, that would tell us where to go (what unit), where to stay and help us get maps of the area.

Does that type of guiding service exist? If so do y'all know anyone you can recommend?

Thanks In Advance!

If you haven't done so buying a preference point for both you and your son is a good place to start. Also a gps with a wyoming chip will help you find land that public for hunting. There is lots of information online about how much public land is in each unit and draw odds.

If you're just looking to experience a wyoming antelope hunt I don't think you'll have any trouble drawing a unit, or picking up a leftover any antelope tag.

As far as going guided, I would just DIY if you're not looking for anything huge.

If you have any other questions you can shoot me a pm.

Good luck!

+1 for DIY... I'd bet it's one of the easiest hunts you could go on. Do your research and ask a lot of questions and you'll be golden. You'd have to pay for a licensed guide and I'd bet they'll all be busy doing full hunts with their clients.

Once you get drawn for your tags, ask around on the forums. We will point you in the right direction. It's easy, fun, and a great hunt for kids.

Ok, how's this sound like for a plan?

. 2 guys pickup w camper shell 3 coolers w ice, water, freeze dried foods, Kifaru Tut and 270 WSM's. Need a GPS with whatever a chip is and maps of the grasslands. Spotting scope, binos and packs. Figure we'll just drive around and hike around and camp different place as we move thru the unit.

I actually hunt 73 quite a bit and have for 20+ years. It's a huge area with a ton of public land. Very close to Casper for supplies etc. It won't take long to fill your tags. GPS is a must. It's always windy out here and the weather changes by the minute. 270wsm will definitely work. They're not hard to kill.
