I mentioned the other day I picked up a Starlink Mini.

Decided to roll up to my Wyoming cabin and goof off a couple days.

Got the unit all set up and holy smokes is it nice!

Since I’m off grid, I’m running it off my 2000 generator for now.

Here is the speed test

It’s 18 degrees and got a fire going in the wood stove and sipping on a cocktail.

Life is good

Gorgeous cabin.

You gonna track down the hare that made all those tracks in the yard and post a breakfast picture of it tomorrow morning on your new internet connection?

I have been working full time remote for the last 3+ months in my truck with a starlink mini. Speeds are solid, but the low power draw and small footprint make it even better.

I have Starlink at my house and it’s been great! My wife told me they are doing some kind of promotion for longtime users and giving us a huge discount and discounted monthly rate for a mini.

When I saw it mentioned in the black Friday thread, I was a little surprised to see it priced above $100. I'd have signed up for several months if it were, but I remember when home WiFi just started and it seemed like an updated unit needed purchased every 6 months.

Who has had their original starlink for a few years?

They gave me mine for $5 a month.

I am in rural Colorado mountains and about six months ago I happily canceled Centurylink and switched to Starlink. Absolutely no complaints or outages thus far with Starlink. I have had consistent speed, no outages, and I saved $50/month by switching. Prior I averaged 1 or 2 outages per month with centurylink that usually lasted between 1-4 days, it was getting ridiculous.

I have starlink at home. They offered me the mini for free. It arrives Sunday. Cant wait to try it out

I’ve had my original Starlink for a few years now. Still going strong. I mounted to the side of my housing where it said I would get the best signal. It’s worked great through some significant storms and has an ice/snow detection on it that heats up to keep anything accumulating on it.

^^^^ The mini has the same heat option. So cool

It also has a sleep mode so you can set it to go off and on at certain times.
