Wounded Buck

I run a off lead tracking dog. Generally we see bone fragmentation associated with a leg hit...but surely you'd of noticed a limping deer when ha came back around. If you didn't actually break bone or enter the body cavity...it could be tough even for a good dog to recover that deer. If the dog got on it early he may could get the deer stopped for a follow-up shot...but this one is tough. I concur with the above hypothesis in the brisket shots...most front end shots get some sort of mule kick associated with them. If that is the case and the deer is already back on does, chances are he will be fine and hopefully you get another crack at him.
