i would sell and go hunting to complete your slam! I'm 3 animals shy of the super slam but dont have any bitcoin to sell, but sure wish I did.
What animals are you missing?

I have a few more as well for the NA 29 super slam. Been chipping away at it since I first read a Chuck Adams book when I was a kid

Bird in the hand! Do you want to look at a desert sheep on your wall or not?

The sooner you have the experience, the longer you can cherish it!

As someone that admittedly knows very little on the subject.

I say go in the hunt. I lost my mom when she was 49, do as much cool shit as you can, while you can. As long as you are good without the cost of the sheephunt go for it.

What do you guys think is more likely to happen. Bitcoin to get to $1M per coin, or Ethereum to get to 50K per?
Definitely see BTC to $1M before ETH does anything. ETH isn’t even close to an ATH, it’s not limited and many other alt coins faster and more efficient at transactions

Financial assets of any kind are worthless until they are spent on or traded for some type of goods, services or experiences. They are just numerical digits. Tomorrow is promised to nobody. At 64 I know many who died before their time and never realized their dreams, including my wife of 40 years, at just 56 and my dad when I was just 15. There will always be opportunities in the future to make money on BTC regardless of its current price. Go on the hunt and enjoy life while you can...its fleeting.

I'd say HODL on to that Bitcoin, buddy! The market's still looking bullish, and it's likely to keep going up. You're sitting on a potential goldmine, and selling now might mean missing out on some serious gains. I mean, think about it you could potentially buy multiple sheep hunts in the future with the same amount of Bitcoin. It's a tough call, but I'd rather wait and see how the market plays out. Plus, you've got a good thing going with that Bitcoin stash, and it's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to crypto. So, unless you're really itching to get out into the field in Feb, I'd say hold tight and see what the future holds for your Bitcoin.

Lots of good opinions, overall I am in a good financial position. Bitcoin was for extra cash, but now I can see its potential to be life changing….

The deal is with a very reputable outfitter I have hunted with before a couple times.

Price is in the low $50s. Not the biggest trophy area but 170” average rams.

Normal price is $65+ in this area. The better known trophy ranches and a chance at a 180” ram would be $75k+

I am in relatively good health at 48y. I should have time and health to hunt later, or on the flipside work a bit longer when I’m older to offset spent $ now…

I had invested in a crypto project before the big SBF crash. Didn’t have a clear goal with it, just jumped on a bandwagon. I remember thinking “if I could pay off my vehicle with this that would be cool” I had bought a 4Runner new, something I swore I’d never do, but COVID had destroyed the used car market in our area. Crypto was skyrocketing…I had 5x+ at one point, and clearly remember watching my wallet hit $47,000, enough to pay off the loan plus some. Same as you, I started thinking about what could happen if this just kept going up. “Life changing money”…I started thinking about my mortgage, not my car. Then my parents mortgage, early retirement, ect ect. One of my best friends is a financial advisor, and he kept telling me to “shave some off the top” Don’t have to sell out entirely, just shave off some upside when it’s in a good position. Should have listened to him…

Sounds like you’re in a responsible financial position, so this is all a gamble of fun money now vs fun money later.

No idea how much you’re holding, but if you could shave some off to pay for a hunt, I’d do it. If you had to sell out entirely, I’d think twice.

As a guy who regrets not going on a Dall hunt, multiple Dall hunts in the 90s. I would sell that bit coin in a hot second and take the deal NOW. I’ve nearly died twice in the past 3 years. There is NO predicting the future.

I am pretty happy that I saw the writing on the wall and do have a Fannin ram. Looking at him every day makes me very happy.

Alaska Dall sheep hunt in 225 days, 10 hours, and 33 minutes...but who is counting. Can't wait. Training continues. Losing weight ain't easy like 20 years ago.

Best of luck with your decision. I would sign the contract and slap down the deposit.

I have never regretted any of the hunts I have been on and places that I have traveled. I have been very blessed, grateful, and thankful.

See you at the upcoming conventions. Happy hunting to all in 2025, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

I have a great last minute deal on a Desert Bighorn sheep hunt (to complete my slam)

Only problem is funds are tight at the end of year. That said I luckily own some Bitcoin I stashed away for the very purpose to justify my hunting habit

But as everyone with crypto knows it is a Bull market and still going up. HODL is pretty appropriate now! Depending what Trump does I may be able to buy multiple sheep hunts in 5 years with the same amount of BTC….

Would you sell BTC now for a sheep hunt in Feb?

It’s sounds like you reached your goal when you purchased the btc, congratulations. It’s hard to separate from investments once you reach your goals, especially during the bull. If it’s not going to clean out your btc holdings, which it doesn’t sound like it will, then go finish that sheep slam!

There’s another BTC thread, and it’s been brought up a few times all the cool hunts btc holders are going to get to do. No reason why this couldn’t be the first.

Make sure to post pics of your ram while wearing a BTC shirt
