The old Dodge is definitely worth flying across country for.
Good luck with the new Toyota

O ya, got the 10 year extended. Soooo much tech in the new stuff. It’s nice, but I’m sure super expensive to replace. As long as it’s under warranty
Exactly, every truck today will have some type of problem but will every manufacturer step up for their customer? I’ll probably get rid of my Tundra next year and want to go with the baby duramax but this tundra has been so good it’s a tough call.I have 43K on my '23 Tundra limited. I love this truck. My last 4 trucks were fords. Traded my '08 F250 after the second radiator in 70k miles. My 2017 F150 had to have an oil pan and other issues that were common with that Ecoboost motor with no recall.
Toyota is going to give me another engine if I want, for free and a loaner while it's being replaced. I haven't had any issues so I'm not worried about it. At least they stand behind their product.
Two of my neighbors have Chevy ZR2's that are going to have to have new engines with the 6.2 recalls. Good luck finding a car manufacturer now days that doesn't have an occasional recall. Whether or not they do the right thing is what decides it for me.
I test drove a half ton Duramax trail boss and they are really nice. I almost went that direction but found a better deal on this tundra.Exactly, every truck today will have some type of problem but will every manufacturer step up for their customer? My 2024 F450 crew cab 8' box dually diesel will haul 3x as much, pull 4x as much, has 2x as much room in the cab, an 8' box, rides better, looks better and gets better fuel mileage and will hold it's value better and will resale quicker. When did Toyota ever make a real truck? Well, never.
Been a chevy guy most of my life but won't touch anything made in the last 15 years. Rust buckets and engine/tranny issues. Won't touch a newer Ram either...junk.
Just sold my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 HD 5.9 HO diesel quadcab with 110K and rust free/damage free to my brother a month ago......I loved that truck and so does he. Better reliability than any Toyota ever made....can easily get 500K+ with very little repairs on these beasts. Once I got the F450 I hardly drove it.
Toyota lost their way long ago. My buddy has a 2019 Tundra and it struggles to pull his 36' bumper pull camper up long hills. He is looking at getting a bigger truck now. Toyota does not make one.
If anyone is trying to pull a 36' trailer with a Tundra, you have the wrong tool for the job!My 2024 F450 crew cab 8' box dually diesel will haul 3x as much, pull 4x as much, has 2x as much room in the cab, an 8' box, rides better, looks better and gets better fuel mileage and will hold it's value better and will resale quicker. Is there a time/mileage limit before you bring it in for a replacement engine?Toyota is going to give me another engine if I want, for free and a loaner while it's being replaced. I haven't had any issues so I'm not worried about it. At least they stand behind their product.
I don't believe so. From what I understand after talking with the dealer, the models that were in a certain time frame will get a new motor, starting with the oldest and then working their way forward. They didn't mention anything about mileage or time frame restrictions, nor did they mention anything about warranty. It's a factory recall so it's not related with extended warranty or anything. They told me it would be 6-9 months on mine most likely. I'm not having any issues so I'm just looking at it as getting a new engine when I'm only going to be at 50-60k miles. Is there a time/mileage limit before you bring it in for a replacement engine?
If you got a good one without the metal filings that could end up being a helluva deal.

If you had a truck for twenty years and only put 110k on it, then I'm jealous. I drive that many miles in 3.5 - 4 years. It looks like the MSRP on new F450's is 80 - 110k, so that's not really an apples to apples comparison. My 2024 F450 crew cab 8' box dually diesel will haul 3x as much, pull 4x as much, has 2x as much room in the cab, an 8' box, rides better, looks better and gets better fuel mileage and will hold it's value better and will resale quicker.
