Would you buy this scope?

Figured as much.
Forms write up on the Minox test included the wind brackets explanation with pictures.
Worth reading through, and figuring out what that means for your gun.

But basically you are going to be much closer to center than I think you are assuming.

5mph wind at 500yds with a .5bc bullet = .5mil hold. Aka the edge of the box.
Same bullet and range, but 10mph wind= 1.0mil hold. Near center of the “moderate wind bracket”

Again, strongly recommended to reference the original Minox post.

I'm a total retard to the entire reticle. (and I am going to be just like the fng who posts in the .223 for his first post stating the .223 is to small instead of reading back)

But with how the design of the THLR, if it is designed to make your eyes naturally focus with the center, would this not cause you to want to drift back to the center if trying to hold for wind? Or is this one of those things it's over thought of, and not practiced enough to become second nature?
Hey! You’re like me! Hence I’ll just buy the plain mil reticle one lol

For sure. I used to import from Europe and it was pretty standard to wire before the shipment. It was always a little stressful turning loose all of your cash and waiting for the product to get to you. CBP sometimes took their sweet time clearing the shipments adding to the wait. Broker fees added to the cost. If I recall any shipment $2K or over in value had to be handled by a broker who interacted with CBP, you couldn’t do it yourself. Under $2K was much simpler, you just waited for the call from the shipper that it was all clear to pick up.

I’ll add that the above is a very simplistic version of what has to be done or what happens when importing goods. There’s a lot involved initially to do it correctly and to stay out of trouble with CBP. If you don’t do it right your goods you’ve payed for can get seized with no recourse to get it back and you lose your money. End of story. So think of some of this and be happy these guys are offering up the product for the price they are asking.
Yeah,
Try getting an Amazon FBA account and buying/shipping/importing/selling from Japan/China/wherever. Amazon don't make it easy....

So you really think it is absolutely fine for people that are supposedly members of a supportive community to take advantage of, first S2H who are themselves in essence providing a service that community by developing this product and selling it at an under valued price and second those trying to take advantage of other members of that community by selling the product for personal gain? I am guessing you are the kind of person that is fully supportive of the Somali's in Minnesota defrauding the government. Hey if they can get it more power to them!

I am assuming that S2H will prevent this from happening the next time around, as well as possibly canceling the multi-orders this time around. I am sure they never anticipated this behavior from the community they created.
You bring up Somali's in Minnesota because of someone buying scopes....lol what a tender guy. maybe we need to have more rules on buying scopes....haha

I might be misunderstanding you ... but while the stadia thickness are the same, the lengths are difference - which will draw the eye towards the center, as well as being quicker for reading the mils for wind holds.

Actually, looking at it again, i misread it. They are tapered in height as you move outward. It's the thickness thats the same. Thats what I get for trying to decipher it on my phone earlier today.

I havent seen it mentioned but I am curious. @Formidilosus are you satisfied with the testing so far for this release? Would you say its still too early and they should have waited to release?

At this point in the thread will we just be seeing updates on how the scopes are performing like we would for a normal evaluation?

I only ask since we went from testing to preorder in a short time period. I think selling 500 scopes in 1.5hrs speaks towards the confidence folks have at this stage.

Also, if you think there is BS now in this thread just wait 7-9 months from now.

Meme for good measure

Lets try some useful info, real world use of the THLR reticle.

Windy day here. Grabbed the 22CM w the Minox. Was guessing steady 8mph 90 degree wind. Dialed for 450, held edge of the reticle box (medium wind) missed slightly off the side. Corrected hold for 12mph 1.5 (wind value for this rifle) x 700 yards (put me in the "high wind bracket") 4/4 at 700 yards on 10" plate
