I have to wear 1.5 readers now at 59 to see anything close, so it could say Y, M, or a P or nothing at all, and they all look the same to me without readers lol

Got back just before dark. Rushed it and mounted one up and commenced to shooting.

To pile on that question, is there a measurable difference between nl14s and meopta 15s for these scenarios?

No. On that note, we had a pair of ZeroTech Trace 15x56mm’s that were very solid. They’re the only non Swaro/Leica/Meopta 15’s that have seen that were worth using.

The T3 shot a 1.7” horizontally strung group with the proof scope- something is broke somewhere and will have to be tracked down.

Mounted one of the Proto scopes in the Bat Hammerhead 308- it is not bonded, but has been used to drop eval scopes. With a NF Milspec it has about .1 mil +/- shift on 36” drops every once in a while. The proof group with the new lot# of Federal 308T was 1.5”- the worst group I have ever seen a gun shoot that ammo, but still acceptable for checking zero shift.


This drop eval was conducted on hard packed, frozen ground with a single 1/2” padded shooting mat (not two mats as normal for the drop eval).

Scope was bore sighted and 3 rounds fired.- top. Read reticle and adjusted. Left dot was the remaining 7 shots. Adjusted up .1, and left .2. Center dot was next 3- I adjusted up .1 mil before the drop portion, this was a mistake.



First shot with no drops hit very top of the 12 o’clock on the dot. Then I did 15 drops from 36” (not 18”).


The mistake of the last adjustment is seen.


Then I conducted two more rounds of 15 drops at 36”. For a total of 45 drops from 36” on hard packed frozen ground.




There was no POI shift from first shot to the end of 45x 36 inch drops.

I adjusted down .2 mils, and shot ten rounds-



Down .2 mils was too much again. Next I will do the RTZ portion.



RTZ-





Adjusting (“tracking”).

The two dots feel between 7.3 and 7.4 mils. I used 7.4 mils.

Bottom at zero



At 7.4 mils of elevation. Spot on.

Conclusion:


Scope worked correctly. Held zero through 45 drops from 36”- all shot inside the cone of the gun. RTZ and “tracking” were as good as can be shot live fire in the field.


Onto scope #3.

You've mentioned at some point that there's only one scope out there that has the fully bonded/glued internals on top of an already "drop safe" design. Was that requested with this scope, or is that proprietary or cost prohibitive?

Correct. NF Milspec. It cannot be done at LOW from what I understand.

Probably a topic for another thread, but you mentioned your test rifle being bonded. Is there any bonding material that can be used for a factory Tikka stock or rokstock that won't destroy the bedding when removing the action (just removal for barrel replacement)
