I’m asking what scope is better for the same intended use you have for the S2H scope if cost is not a factor?

If the overall the answer is “none”, because that’s why you’re building this one, then we want to hear it from you.

If that’s not the answer, then we want to hear that also.

Maybe address specific feature comparisons in your answer, such as glass quality/clarity, reticle, turrets, eye relief, and such.

All the ways that this will be unprecedented in quality and design, not to mention price point, has been discussed at nauseum in this thread.

But frankly he doesn't owe you an explanation of why this is better than anything else... read the details when they are available and buy one, or don't.

I’ve read most of the thread. I did get lost for a while during the last 300 posts discussing logos, colors and scams. I saw some specifics. Magnification range, objective size, reticle, reliability and that all sounds amazing for $999 in 2027 dollars. I want one!

I didn’t see where it fell in the realm of optical quality and clarity versus what is currently on the market. I didn’t see eye relief addressed. I’m not being snide or confrontational. I asked because I thought you could give an objective answer, as you are known for doing.

pre-pay is also known as commitment. as mentioned, customer input of a down payment or prepay shares or transfers the risk.

not long ago a company bought a large order of left hand 223's based on "demand".
order was capped at something like 30% of verbal "commitment". When it came time to pay up or shut up, 25% went up for grabs and took around 5 days to sell.

The lefty 223 thing is not really a good example to support a need for “commitment” to keep people from backing out. You failed to mention (and maybe didn’t know) that the price of the rifle increased significantly after a lot of people signed up. The sign up link initially had those rifles listed at $749. I didn’t get on the list at that point as it was still up in the air if they would be blued or stainless. When it was confirmed they would be stainless steel, the price in the link went up to $879. I signed up even though I could have bought a right hand SS 223 or a lefty SS in another cartridge for $750 or less from another source. Then, a couple months later, the company announced that they would be $1,029, but anyone who had already committed under the lower price could email to cancel. Since they didn’t offer to honor the price I had signed up for, I canceled. I was informed that by the time the 223s actually became available, they were $1,079 (but that included “free” shipping ).

I am hopeful that the RokScope will be the ultimate hunting scope, but since the full specs aren’t even known yet, I would not consider putting a deposit down on one at this time.

The 2.5-8x36 vx 3 is easily my favorite hunting scope ever. One that can take a beating for maybe a little bit more weight even would be :chefskiss:

Nice little scopes, but very dull compared to a 3-9x36 swaro. Need to have a glass or coating upgrade as well.

I love the idea of the 2-8x36.

It’s not exactly the spec I’d argued for back in the beginning of this thread, but it’s closer to my ideal than the 3-18 ended up being.

I appreciate the reticle design, and am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. However, the large differentiators between this scope and the others currently on the market are the reticle and the purported reliability (that I am truly hoping materializes). And I suppose the combo of slim turrets, weight, size, is rare and hard to find, so call that a third differentiation (each of those other features is available, but it’s hard to find all of them).

However, the 2-8 would truly be unique. I’m hoping this first one is successful, so that THAT can come to market. THAT is something I’ll wait for.

In the meantime, the Trij 2-10 Credo, 3-18 Tenmile, RS1.2 and (potentially) NX6 2-12 may be the best of the FFP lot for hunting scopes. I hope this S2H Tract (or whatever brand partner it is) joins that list.

I wish S2H well. To design, develop, deal with international manufacturing, financing and marketing a product like this is an large task, especially when you put it on a forum like this. I'm not as rabid about a new scope as some here, but the 2-8 does have my attention. Shot a good number of elk and sheep with a 3.5-10x so the power should be adequate, especially with sufficient trigger time and a good bullet.

I wasn't aware of the price movement. I didn't follow it, just caught the drop and decided to buy one since there were a few available.
