Remove the windage cap and dial away.

So long as it can be zeroed. That would be my preference too. I looked at scopes at Cabelas yesterday, and really experienced not all turrets being equal in any sense of the term. There was at least one that was capped, but under the cap was a zeroed turret that locked in place. But if the windage can dial like any scope, I won't remember in the heat of action how many clicks to come back to zero.

You zero out the turret cap after zeroing the rifle, after that you cap it and don't touch it. Dial for elevation, hold for wind.
