Would you be willing to recycle your body at death?

Some elk hunting buddies of mine had one of their friends die of cancer. He was cremated and they put his ashes in their arrows. The following season they had an epic season and killed several animals with those arrows.

Wow. I cant Believe all the positive responses. I feel much better, I thought I was gonna be called a kook.:)

I agree that funeral and headstones are more for the living and for the dead friends and family members and they may object but as mentioned above, I would like to just walk out of the woods with my bow and keep walking One Direction and just never come out. Don't have me cremated and sprinkle my now worthless ashes in the mountains, let me literally live in those mountains in the animals that nourish their bodies with mine.

Me and my best friend have a dream of being eaten by the same grizzly bear on the same day when we are like 88.... then of course our offspring hunts down said bear and makes a badass rug out of its hide...

I've always told my wife to cremate me and spread my ashes on a mountain somewhere.

Don't really care though because my soul won't be in that body anymore.

I always thought given what we've done to the world it'd make more sense to plant a tree over our bodies to give life to something from our death. After all that is the circle of life, as the price for life is always death.

I wanna go out like Brad Pitt in legends of the fall. Me and a knife vs a grizzly. I lose but the grizzly has very bad memories of the experience.

You know what, they did a documentary about this, it was called "Soilant Green".

But I would have to say no, I would not want to be left in the wilderness. Knowing all of the Coyotes I have harassed, it would be just my luck that I get skull eff'd by one of them after I pass. Not a fan.

I plan to donate my body to the medical college for anatomy cadaver and whatever else. I'll then be cremated when they're done. I've given my whole life to medicine may as well give it in death.

A quote from one of my all time favorite movies kinda sums up my feelings on burials. Gotta see the movie to understand it though.

"Just plant us in the damn garden next to the stupid lion"

I tell my wife if I ever get dementia or some other debilitating illness, she's to dress me in camo and pack my kifaru with my gear and 2 weeks food then turn me loose in the biggest wilderness she can find with my bow and a couple dozen arrows. She and my kids can always think I'm out there hunting somewhere and I get to go out with my boots on doing what I love. I'm OK with taking my place in nature. It's pretty weird if you actually think about preserving remains.

Like this?
Bios Biodegradable Urn for Memorial Tree Planting

This would be another I'm OK with. At least my kids could still throw a tree stand in the tree and sort of hunt with me still.

If you die on the mountain, I'll bone you out and your take your meat back if the want. We all know bones and guts are just extra weight. Not sure how much medical use it'll be though.
